Matthew was Scott's best friend. He had been Scott's best friend for years before I ever had a real conversation with him, and Scott was my brother, and this was Scott's wedding weekend, and there were going to be family members and old friends arriving at this resort today, people who had known all of us for years, and somewhere among all of that I was going to have to stand in the same room as Matthew and behave as though last night had not happened.

I had to make sure my heart wouldn't break, so I stood taller, arching my back, willing the fear which grasped my heart tightly back down. "Adam, I guess I believe you. But I wish it were easier for me to see that you were truly real. I mean, come on, don't you know that I have been having these weird hallucinations?" I said while shrugging my shoulders, not ready to reveal what was laid upon my heart. Yet, Adam, my best friend from childhood, who's still married for Moon Goddess' sake, had this way about him that helps break down my walls. Which is something I had yearned for, for a long time. And now, being with him, which I know is forbidden, is something I desperately need.

I returned the question, narrowing my eyes. He shrugged. “You didn’t sleep.” I pursed my lips, shifting my gaze at the street, wishing something would appear to divert whatever topic he had in mind. Instead of saying something, I heaved a sigh and forced a smile when I glanced at him. “Ah! You didn’t sleep.” This time, his voice was sure. “Charlie’s on the pull-out bed and… I’m not sure if sleeping beside Jessamine is okay,” I muttered truthfully. I spent an hour in Mr. Dough’s apartment, and when I returned, my best friend was already in bed, sleeping like an angel.

Maybe it was just this—soft voices, shared fears, and a silent promise under the covers of my best friend's room. We fell asleep like that—our hands still lightly touching, the past finally starting to settle behind us. At least that's what I thought.

I slept eight hours straight for the first time in three weeks. Maybe it have something to do with my best friend's presence—she's still sleeping and hogging the bed, by the way, that girl—or, it's just that I feel so much lighter after unloading my baggage last night. Poor best friend had to listen to all of that. Maybe that's why she's still asleep. My drama is keeping her tied to the bed. Or, she's just dealing with her food coma.

Besides, sleeping in the same bed as my best friend’s sister wasn’t the worst thing I’d ever done…or would do. Not by a long shot.

He muttered my name, not Jella’s. I think I’m going crazy because of the situation I am in. Fuck this. Sleeping with your best friend is really not okay, especially if you aren’t a couple. Damn, does he know? I mean, he was drunk, right? I couldn’t sleep last night even though my body feels tired already! I was sleepy but my mind was awake for 20-fucking-4 hours!

I didn't see anyone, so I motioned them to come in. ******* ( Olivia’s POV ) I fell asleep, words cannot describe how much of a bad best friend I am, well actually they probably could but don't tell Lena that. There must be something in the Best Friends rule book about not falling asleep before your friend gets back home and tells you all about the date right? Is the book even a real thing or did I make that up...know what I probably did.

Sazia slept close to me, she was undressed. “oh know… what did I just do?” I soliloquized. I could not believe I had slept with my best friend, I felt guilty for that, but I still couldn't understand what had happened last night. One minute I was scolding her for being careless and weak, and the next minute, I suddenly had a craving for her, an insatiable hunger that could only be quenched by her.
