I barely slept that night. Every time I closed my eyes, those glowing eyes flashed behind my lids cold, watching, patient. By morning, I wasn’t sure if what I saw was real or just another nightmare.I looked at cutie and she was still sleeping peacefully. I tried to act normal, but the moment I got to school, the whispers started. People were talking non-stop about the party happening this evening by six. Flyers and posters were everywhere on walls, doors, even the bathroom mirrors. If you hadn’t heard about the party, you were definitely deaf or blind.

I’m in such a panic I run to the pack house and shift clearly not thinking about clothes and have to do the walk of shame back to my room which is more of a run of shame than a walk. I sigh and try to sit up but my mind goes hazy so I lay back down. "Let's go to bed, it's like 4 in the morning," Aaron slurs as he squints at the clock across the room. He stands up but collapses straight away, his body hitting the floor with a thud. He groans and rolls onto his back. I start giggling but it soon turns into full blown laughing.

“I fucking love your terror.” I shiver. He’s said that before—but what lengths will he go to get it? “What do you think will happen if one of them wakes up?” He turns his head, looking out over the girls spread across the living room. I don’t remember falling asleep. I just remember the dancing, and eventually the exhaustion. Did I decide to lie down? Did we all collectively decide to go to sleep at the same time? "Help me." A faint sound was heard. However, Jessy was confused because there was only one in that place except for her. She heard the voice over and over again. Then he turned his attention back to the light. Then approaching, Jessy stared intensely at the bright light and was so surprised when she saw a little elf being crushed by the leaves right at her feet that it was difficult for her to stand up. The girl immediately fell to the ground. She felt strange, his childhood memories were playing when he wished to meet a fairy and now it came true but it was like a dream for him. She rubbed his eyes repeatedly and pinched his cheeks to make sure it was real.

The next morning, the sun shone brightly, casting a warm glow over the room. Aiden and Sophia, still snuggled on the couch, slowly stirred. Sophia shifted slightly, adjusting her position on Aiden's shoulder. As they rubbed the sleep from their eyes, they were suddenly met with five pairs of curious eyes. The girls and Sophia's sisters stood before them, their faces filled with amusement. The sleep cleared from Aiden and Sophia's eyes in an instant, replaced by surprise and a touch of embarrassment.

“Looks like you’ve got yourself a roommate.” Ben’s face lit up like a kid at Christmas. He mouthed OMG at me and Drake, making us both chuckle. We went straight to the TV room, collapsed into the couches, and tore into the food like wolves who hadn’t eaten in a week—which, honestly, wasn’t far off. The kids climbed all over us, tired but giddy. The words “slumber party” had them buzzing with excitement—especially since the adults were in on it too. But as I finished eating, a knot formed in my stomach.

I don't know what it was but the fact that someone would spin the bottle and I just had to magically do their bidding even if it meant streaking across the school's hallways stark naked or face the consequences did not sit well with me.

I don’t know how and when but I slowly found myself drifting off to sleep while playing with its soft furs. I know what you might be thinking. Who is their right state of mind would sleep when an unknown creature was nuzzling up against them? I don’t know about you but I would when I’ve spent the entire day and night before sorting things around my new apartment. I pretty much already had bags forming under my eyes. It was high time I get some sleep. Hence, the slumber party time begins, with a not so small creature in my arms!

“Alright, I declare this party a success. Shawn, thanks for the popcorn, but it’s time for you to go.” Shawn raises his hands in surrender. “I know when I’m not wanted.” He stands, turning to Amanda. “Congrats again. You deserve this.” After he leaves, Lily throws an arm around Amanda. “Now, let’s get some sleep. Tomorrow, we start planning for real.” Amanda nods, feeling the beginnings of excitement stir within her. She doesn’t know exactly where this new chapter will lead, but with her friends, she know it will be an adventure worth taking.
