"This is alchemy, Scout," Alice said. She grabbed my wrist, her grip tight, her thumb pressing into my pulse point. "It is not standard medicine. It is a locked lock. Without the caster's blood or a high-level warlock to dismantle the components, we are just pouring random acid down her throat."
"Then we break the lock," I said. I pulled my wrist out of her hand. "Get the crates."
