Until The Last Day

Until The Last Day

He leaned in closer and whispered, “Smile.” She shut her eyes tightly, biting down on her lip. Slowly and painfully, her mouth curved upward into a forced smile. The screaming flowers went silent. She opened her eyes horrified and whispered, “No.” Her father's voice dripped with manipulation. “Yes. Even false smiles hold power. The world doesn’t care if you’re hurting inside; it only wants to see your teeth.” She stumbled backward, clutching her chest while her lips quivered against their will, trying not to frown—the smile felt like it was locked in place.

My Pain, his gain

My Pain, his gain

It was exactly what she wanted: a position that made her invisible but gave her access to the doctors. After her HR intake, she managed to corner one of the junior surgeons. After signing a fierce confidentiality agreement and promising a significant under-the-table payment from what little money she had saved, she underwent a minor, strategic reconstructive procedure. It wasn't a total overhaul, but it changed the subtle angles of her face. As she sat up from the operating table, her face slightly swollen, she felt a flicker of hope. This was a start. But she knew it was only a temporary fix. Her real goal was to leave the Regal Garden and escape Elite City with her children, leaving Jose b

he said. I didn’t know how to respond. He said it like a joke, but it wasn’t funny. He leaned back against the wall, still looking at me. “You’d be surprised what kind of faces hide behind polite smiles. Cameras, fame… they turn you into something else. And when that mask breaks, people love to see it shatter.” His voice was calm, but there was something under it: pain and subtle anger. I nodded slowly. “So you didn’t ” I stopped myself.

Their Precious Mate

Their Precious Mate

A false smile, but people don’t notice, my cheeks burn in pain at the permanent on slaughter of fakeness. I don’t talk to people. I smile. I smile until it’s too painful to keep it latched onto my face. I smile until tears streaming down that face. I smiled until I’m screamed at and kicked at by my fellow peers. But it’s okay. It’s always been okay.

I really like this book but there are several repeat chapters. Beware of that before you purchase them. It also makes it a bit difficult to read as it throws the timeline off. This needs to be fixed. The book itself is great. Timothy and is mother hen act are hilarious. He is the best beta.

Completely enjoying the refreshing relationship between the alphas and Charlotte ... Ch's 41, 42, & most of 43 are repeats (as of 6/17/24), so skip 41 & 42. End of 43 is a random snippet of a scene that I can't tell if meant to be there, but probably adds to story; from unknown perspective

It reminded me of her own words as her own voice played inside my head. "When people smile a lot it doesn't mean they are happy but it means there is something wrong with them....Smile is plaster to the face that tries to remold life but when the plaster is put for long, it makes one forget that it isn't real. The world they are trying to find by ignoring the bad things but always smiling isn't real. So there is no such thing as perfection and always happy. That is what reality is....Not always happy and smiling......." "You are not real mom" i smiled bavk at her as a tear eased down my eyes.

Jilted Heiress Strikes Back

Jilted Heiress Strikes Back

He took out his phone, tapped a few times on the screen, then set it down. Raina shook the ointment bottle in her hand and explained, “Of course, look, the burn isn’t even very red anymore, and it doesn’t hurt.” Leif asked, “It doesn’t hurt?” Of course it hurt. She was just a normal person—who wouldn’t be afraid of pain? But maybe because she’d once experienced the most intense, excruciating pain in the world, she’d become numb to it. That’s why she always smiled so easily, acting like it didn’t matter.

In Love With A Billionaire Casanova

Johnson had shown her nothing but happiness, she was always smiling no matter what which now made Sia think twice "She hides her pain, behind that smile there is pain Sia...that's why we need to treat her with love, "Carmen said just as Angie walked in with a tray of orange juice and handed one to Sia who took it and sipped some while still thinking about what Carmen had just said. Maybe she was right, some people hide their pain with just a smile

Secret Marriage With Killer Lecturer

Secret Marriage With Killer Lecturer

"After dinner, you can tell me everything. But take it slow, okay? Now you have to fill your body with energy first. I don't like seeing you lethargic like that." A happy smile appeared increasingly on Belinda's beautiful face. "Mr. Brandon, you said it yourself, I finally smiled, right?" “Honestly, I'd rather see you smile. That's your style all this time, always smiling in front of me." "Do you know why I can smile now? Because thanks to Mr. Brandon, I can smile again even though I have just faced a big problem. Thank you for making me smile.”

The Way He Looked at Me

The Way He Looked at Me

Nobody had ever looked at that smile and seen through it, which was either a comfort or the loneliest thing I knew. It frightened me sometimes, how simple it was to perform happiness. How people moved through entire conversations with you, nodding and laughing, never once stopping to look at what was actually behind your eyes. Most of us were barely keeping our heads above water, and we passed each other on the street every morning without a single clue. I didn't blame anyone for it. My pain wasn't anyone else's responsibility. But sometimes not always, just sometimes I wished somebody would ask. Not out of politeness. Not as a passing remark while handing over a coffee cup. But actually
