Ghost lounges back on the mattress, a sly grin stretching across his face as he folds his arms behind his head.
“I’ll wait for you,” he says, his tone casual, but the smirk on his lips anything but.
“You can’t wait for me, Ghost,” I argue, narrowing my eyes at him.
“Why not?” he drawls, sitting up slightly but still looking entirely too relaxed for my liking. “Your family’s not here. No one’s about to barge into your room while you’re gone. So, yeah, I think I can wait.”
