THE DIVORCED WIFE RETURNS TO TAKE BACK WHAT’S HERS
Tiny feet come barreling towards me like a missile, and I barely have time to drop my heels before she collides with my legs and wraps her arms around me.
The grounding. I crouch instantly, gathering her into my arms, burying my face in her curls. She smells like baby soap and something sweet, probably chocolate, because of course. My Angel loves chocolate.
“Hey, my love,” I murmur. “Did you miss me?”
She nods dramatically.
“You were gone forever.”
I smile against her hair.
“Forever was… what? Six hours?”
She considers this.
“Too long.”

Behind her, Marina appears, wiping her hands on a dish towel, smiling softly.
