Snake’s words tumbled out faster and faster until he was tripping over his tongue.
Gavin’s hands came to my shoulders, but it didn’t keep me from going completely stiff as Snake continued to mutter variations of the same thing. Gavin leaned in close. “Do you know what he’s talking about?”
I shook my head. “No…” The word trailed off as I remembered the last time we were all in the lab together. “They gave me some blood a few days ago,” I started. “It was mixed. Wrong. But it made me feel better, stronger than I have in a long time.” I started twisting my hands together. “After that, the next time they experimented on me, Snake started choking. Spider,” I pointed to the guard they had tied up,
