~ Camilla The cold crept in faster than I thought it would. At first, I thought I could power through. I wrapped the scratchy hotel blanket tighter around myself and ignored the ache in my back from the tile. I told myself I was fine. That this wasn’t so bad. That frostbite was better than sin. Then I sneezed. Just once. Then twice. Then I kept sneezing. Repeated, messy, pathetic little explosions of breath that I tried to stifle but failed miserably. It was like my immune system had finally joined in the sabotage. Like my body had taken Stephano’s side.

I sneezed all over the pretty girl. Because that's how you get laid, you sneeze to mark your territory. Sweet God, why hadn't her dad just discovered me, shot me, and buried the body? He steps towards me and I step back untill my back meets with the wall. He stretched out the flowers to me and I push it away from me. "What? You don't like the flowers?" I open my mouth to speak but I ended up sneezing on him. "Are you ok?" I shake my head and sneeze again. "Are you sick?" Oh my God, I want to tell him to take the flowers away from me but I couldn't speak cause I kept sneezing. I take the flowers from him and throws it out of the room.

I might as well concentrate to get this over with. At the corner of my eyes, I saw Ace trying to grab me, but I slapped his hand away because I was busy forcing myself to sneeze. Can he not bother me!? Great. Now that sneezing feeling was gone. I wiped my eyes clean and sniffed. I looked back at Ace and glared. It's his fault that I wasn't able to sneeze. I expected him to glare back for not paying attention to what he was saying earlier, but instead, he looked taken aback and surprised. His mouth moving like a fish out of water. Yet, as the bloom neared my face, an immediate response was triggered – a series of sneezes, as if my body had decided to express its dissent. His inquiry was fueled by the sight of my continuous sneezing, and he was quick to react, likely sensing that my nose was beginning to resemble a shade of crimson. Gathering my scattered focus, I managed to convey, "I'm allergic to roses." The words emerged amidst sneezes that persisted as an unwelcome distraction. His response was swift; he dashed to retrieve tissue paper, returning with urgency in his steps.

A tickle started to form in my nose. No. No. No. Please, not now, I begged silently. I held my breath. Pressed two fingers hard beneath my nose. Willed the sneeze to go away. But the dust under the bed was too strong, too thick. I’d crawled into a forgotten, dusty corner of the world, and now it was trying to betray me. The sneeze came out—tiny, barely a sound. More like a squeaky gasp. But to me, it sounded like an explosion.

“Achoo!” Chase rubbed his nose after he sneezed and mumbled, “Someone must be talking behind my back…” “What’s ‘talking behind my back’ daddy?” Eon who was silently eating food beside his father innocently asked. “Like someone is talking about me somewhere. It may be something good or bad about me,” Chase calmly explained. Eon nodded. “So when you sneeze, it’s an indication of someone talking behind your back?” “Hmm… Probably.”
