Chapter 1 The bookstore smelled like fresh coffee and old paper, the way it always did on event nights. Elena Reyes stood at the front of the packed reading room, microphone in hand, watching twenty kids and their parents lean forward as she finished the last chapter of the bedtime story. Laughter rippled through the crowd. A little girl in the front row clapped so hard her pigtails bounced. Then her phone buzzed on the podium. Once. Twice. Three times. She ignored it until the applause died down. Only then did she glance at the screen.

I changed into some dry clothes all while sneezing and coughing. My chest felt like it was hollowed out with each sneeze. I could not feel my nose anymore; my head was thundering and my ears were ringing. I was starting to get numb. All I felt was blankness at that moment when I lay down. I felt tears streaming down my cheeks but all it did was drench the pillow rather than make me feel lighter.

"Hatchiii..." Lian rubbed his nose which suddenly felt itchy. The woman was still in the office elevator just about to go home with all her equipment piled up in her hands. He was in a closed elevator, with several people around him, plus the sudden sound of sneezing amidst the silence. Of course, the awkward situation that had already filled the elevator when she decided to go down with the other employees, became even worse when Lian uncontrollably let out a sneeze.

She told her while smiling. She saw that she became a little bit uncomfortable. “Sorry, I don’t think that I will be used to that.” Lily replied. "Can you tell us more about snow later?" Thea asked her. "Yes! I want a snow story too!" Said Enzo. "Okay, but you need to do your homework first." She told them and she saw how their shoulders went down. She just smiled with their reaction. She’s used to it actually. “I’m sorry babies but do your homework first before my snow story.” She said to them.

What was going on? My friend Ria nudged me. "What happened?" "Uh... I don't know-" My breath caught in my throat, making it difficult for me to talk. The tongue in my mouth felt heavy, swollen almost and not letting me talk. Tears started accumulating in my eyes, and it got increasingly difficult to see anything. Ria was already on her feet, handing me the glass of water. Beth's about to fetch me tissues from inside, but I sneezed loudly, wiping my nose on the sleeve of my shirt and swearing under my breath.

Please, I beg you, I will legit stop swearing for an entire day. And for a person that swears like a sailor, that is saying something. He starts coughing and kills another water bottle and starts sweating like crazy. " Yo, dude, what's happening?", I throw a rag at him and quickly finish the rest of my jaffle. "Nothing, that irrational thing just took me off guard", He chuckled brushing it off. I give him a stinky eye. "Excuse me, mister, but to your knowledge let me tell you that werewolves do exist, and vampires and lots of other creatures as well! Where do you think all the stories, novels, rumors, and movies have originated from?"

The close quarters made it hard to breathe, and she shifted uncomfortably, trying to find her balance. As the elevator continued to ascend, the warmth of the crowd became stifling. Lily's heart raced, and she felt a sneeze building. She tried to suppress it, but the tickle in her nose grew unbearable. “Oh no,” she thought, panic rising as she realized there was no escaping it. Before she could react, she let out a loud, unexpected sneeze—“ACHOO!”—and in a comical twist of fate, the force sent a spray of droplets onto Lewis’s crisp white shirt.

I shook my head and again started enjoying the rain with her. I stepped into my room, sneezing constantly and my clothes are soaked up. I directly strode into the bathroom to take a warm and relaxing shower. I'm sneezing and snuffling, standing under the shower. I caught a bad cold. I hate it. Why do I catch a cold too fast? Now can't even I enjoy the rain? It was the first rain of this year's monsoon, how could I have missed it. I would be fine in a few days. **

Patty groaned with visible frustrations on her face. " Let's just tell some horror stories." My eyes lightened up as I hear horror stories. I love horror stories too. Sheena usually tells me something about horrors. At first, I'll cover my ears and pretend I didn't hear anything from her but sooner it wonders me and catch my interest. I sometimes read one-shot horror stories.

Stupid hands! The door unlocked with a click and I pushed it open, wincing at the ominous creaking sound it made. Taking a deep breath, I stepped into the house and promptly started sneezing from the dust that assaulted my nostrils. With watery eyes, I glanced at Zane who stood there without a care in the world. Why am I the only one sneezing here? Then I chided myself for the silly thought.
