“There’s so much to do. Even when we’re together, I don’t feel close enough to you.” She nodded. “I know what you mean,” she said. “We may be in the same room, but we’re so focused on the fire we have to put out, we may as well be a million miles apart.” There was no point in beating around the bush. “Sometimes I feel like you’re pulling away from me,” I said. Thea scooted up, so we were eye to eye. She took a deep breath in and let it out.

"Fine go on." "Okay for some period of time now I've been feeling drawn to you in so many ways. I just can't explain it. One minute it's like when you're there I'm whole, and when you're not I feel like I'm falling apart again. It's like you're a missing piece of a puzzle, because I feel these incomplete vibes when you're far away."

And that was as close to a normal night as it could get, —even though they remained miles apart.
