So Long Summer Novels & Stories

Maybe I was destined to feel this only for him. "Well we have to leave you now, Joshua has to open up the salon and I have to meet with the real estate agency." Anthony said as he and Joshua got up. "Well see each other this weekend for camping, Summer you said you know a perfect spot." Huh, Summer had no clue, somehow I think she never even went camping. "Yes, my driver will pick us all up and drop us off." Summer said, her eyes shined as she looked at Anthony. It was either the shine of love or the shine of a hangover, either way it was nice to see.

She had enough confidence to believe things might turn out in her favor. After a brief pause, Ben relented, his voice less rigid. “Alright, let’s say I agree. How long are we ‘acting’ for?” “Three months. After that, we part ways, and I’ll get a ticket out of the country. My family won’t be able to pressure me if they can’t reach me,” Summer replied, leaving out the part where she had overheard her mother and Mrs. Lucas talking about setting a wedding date in three months. Her plan wasn’t about breaking up, it was about sealing the deal with marriage.

The head of the orphanage found me in the middle of the scorching summer, which was why he named me Theros Sommar. When Daisy learned of it, she then said that moving forward, the summer solstice every year would be my birthday. She then prepared birthday gifts for me and even baked a birthday cake for me to celebrate. Ever since my gastric bleeding the other day, she had forbidden me from drinking again. But the mood back then had been just right, so I pestered her until she gave in and allowed me to drink some red wine. One thing led to another, and that night, she finally gave herself wholly to me.

"We broke up some time ago." "Seven months." Summer said, "It's been seven months." "Ah. I didn't know." "I was waiting for you." She continued, "I heard you quit the band?" "Yeah." "I'm sorry." "It was a mutual decision." I replied as briefly as I could, "I wanted out too." "If you ever want to talk..." She started but I immediately cut her off, "I guess I'll see you around." Summer smiled as she walked away. I didn't want to continue talking to her. I was afraid of being vulnerable again. I really missed her. I wanted to talk more. I wanted to hear her voice more but we broke up and I know it's just... not right.

"The smart watch is going to break before the agreement period is even up." "Theo may think he got a new smart watch, but he just got himself a smart pager instead. Poor little thing." … Time passed after that, and soon, it was Theo's summer break. I was just discussing the company's development plans with Austin for the next five years when I suddenly caught sight of the comments once again becoming active. "Damn! I've been paying so much attention to the villains' daily life that I forget we're almost at a crucial point in the main plot!"

Ystal strides through the village, reaching the small center, characterized by the presence of some dry shrub, delimiting a small recreational area; usually, on summer and spring afternoons, the children played noisily, drawing upon themselves the calmed and saddened glances of their parents and fellow villagers. After all, everyone knew that sooner or later, at least half of them, would disappear in some Purge.

Over summer break, right after graduation, my parents, Stuart and Rachel Powell, decided the whole family would take a road trip together. But the moment I hauled my suitcase up to the car door, Mom's hand shot out to stop me. "There's no room. Maybe you should just sit this one out." She glanced back at the seat behind her. "Aiden doesn't want you along, either. He's not feeling well right now, so give way to him." My knuckles went white on the suitcase handle, and my throat turning bitter. Aiden was the biological son they'd lost years ago and only just found again. Ever since he came back, everything that used to be mine had gone to him. Slowly, I'd been pushed to the margins of t

he pleaded. “Then don’t call me at all, that’ll be easy for you.” Sieghal’s response made Kenna pout. His lips pursed, and his slightly reddish cheeks puffed up, just like a kid sulking. It looked cute, but Sieghal thought it was out of place for someone in their twenties. “Alright, I won’t ask again. But I’ll find out eventually since we’ll be sailing together for three months,” Kenna said, regaining his enthusiasm.

The impending separation of them tugged their hearts. As the sun began to go down, painting the skies in the shade of gold, D'Andre found themselves sitting by the water's edge, letting their friends drink the last bottles of their beers. D'Andre's fingers intertwined with Maiari's, watching the waves whisper their secret to the very end of the shore. “It's been an incredible summer,” D'Andre said, there's a glowing gratitude but sadness is more evident. Maiari smiled, reflections of the hues of the sunset in her eyes. “Yes, it has. But you know, even though the summer is ending, the memories we've made will stay with us forever.”
