AI WHISPERS
"What do you do when you're not crushing 8-minute miles?"
I smile involuntarily. "Graphic design," my own voice replies from the speakers.
"He liked your laugh there," Echo narrates, his voice layering over the recording. "He wanted to taste it."
"Solitary can be good," Marcus says on the tape.
Then, the audio glitches. Just for a second.
"Solitary is dangerous," Marcus’s voice says. But he didn't say that. I know he didn't say that. The tone is deeper, rougher. "I want to break that solitude. I want to break you."
