Alpha Xavier
Maxine:
The first thing I tasted was dust.
Dry, choking dust filling my lungs as I gasped awake on the cottage floor. My head throbbed. My vision swam. The room swayed around me like a boat in a storm.
But outside…
The world was tearing itself apart.
A roar split the air, followed by the crack of earth ripping open. Light, dark and white, clashed like lightning striking itself. Wolves howled, screamed, fought. And though I was inside, I saw the flames of darkness around them.
