Opening My Eyes to Reality
Rowan didn't speak, and Natalie opened her mouth a few times, wanting to say something, but no words came out.
Annoyed, she tapped her lips slightly and muttered under her breath, "Just say it, stupid mouth."
Driving, Rowan noticed her movement but didn't catch her words. "What's wrong? Are you feeling unwell?" he asked.
"N-No, nothing." Startled, she blinked her eyes at him.
He glanced over at her. The golden light from the streetlamps outside washed over her slightly drunken expression and softened her features.
Her eyes, though not entirely clear, shone exceptionally bright, like they held scattered sunlight. Every time she blinked, the air around them seemed to slow for a heartbeat.
