HER INSECURITY, MY TEMPTATION--MAFIA
I heard a soft voice and screamed so loud, bending my head tightly in between my knees, my fingers clutching the sides of my head as if I could block the sound out.
The ghosts are tormenting me. They were calling my name. My lips kept vibrating uncontrollably as sobs erupted through my chest, my breath coming out in broken, uneven gasps.
“Araceli, calm down.”
I felt a touch on my arm and screamed again, louder this time, my body jerking away violently as I pushed myself from whatever illusion my brain was creating.
“It’s me, Sonia.”
