He'd look at me then, frightened but proud, and I would smile even though inside it hurt, because what mother could guide her son into the life she had been cut away from? That morning, I stood at the edge of the clearing behind the Alpha house. The trees loomed tall, whispering secrets in the wind, and the soil was damp from last night's rain. Cerberus walked ahead with Archer, his large hand resting steady on our son's small shoulder. Archer's eyes, green like mine but with silver streaks, sharp like his father's, were bright with excitement and nerves.

Snow crunches under someone’s feet and I open the door just in time to step in. “Quinn?” someone calls, and I catch a glimpse of Bobby walking around. “Oh, uh, hi.” Archer’s parents bought a cute little house in downtown Eastwood, with a ‘man cave’ over the garage that they’ve converted into a house for Bobby. They haven’t been here that long, and we think Bobby’s been clean this whole time. Archer doesn’t seem that optimistic, but he’s been talking to his brother more than he has in years. “Is Archer home?”

The sound of my mother screaming mixed with the sound of glass hitting the wooden floor filled the room; unfazed, Archer locked his deadly eyes on my father and his Alpha. "SHE STAYS WITH ME!" He roared, squeezing his Alphas throat, constricting the air from his lungs. Archer pushed further forward, my fingernails elongated in sharp claws, piercing throw flesh and into my father's throat, "With a little pressure, I can and will rip out your carotid artery and gift it to my mother if you try to separate us again." Archer sneered, adding pressure to prove his point.

Archer didn't even tangle there hands like they always did . Archer was already pissed on his men who failed to look after his work . He had given them one job . To find the owner of a drug dealing company and kill him but they didn't. Those fuckers took bribe and let him go . Of course Archer beat them to death but he was now beastly since he received a called from his guard telling him the Arabelle was stalked by a Kid .

Jessica kisses Jason one more time and steps into her apartment. Jason gets home, it's 3 am. He switches on his TV and grabs a juice from the fridge. The case his uncle gave him catches his eye. It's been in the corner of his living room unopened all this time. Jason grabs the case and puts it on his coffee table and opens it. He looks at the large crossbow on the there side of the case there is a row of long silver arrows strapped to the inside of the top of the case. There could be 20 arrows as well as a modern-looking quiver in which to carry the arrows. Each team would display its mounted archery skills across the vast open field before them. Andrew ordered the targets set, and the second prince, Zachary, led his team of five in a full circuit of the field, marking the start of the demonstration. Three of them struck the very center of the targets, while the other two were hardly less impressive, their arrows landing just shy of the bullseye. None had missed entirely. The third prince, Theodore, followed immediately. Four members of his team all struck dead center, and again, no one missed. Then came the Obsidian Monarch, who turned back and casually selected two men from the group behind him to join himself and his aides, Cloud and Liam.

Everyone admired their beauty. I dared a glance at him then, Alpha Archer, standing at the top of the steps between his parents. Cloaked in black and silver, he was everything the council wanted him to be, strong, proud, and unyielding. But his jaw was tight, his eyes shadowed with a storm hidden just beneath the surface. I felt it in my bones, though I couldn't explain why. The tension in him, the restless energy of a wolf that is caged. Carla nudged me as we stepped forward to pour wine into crystal goblets for the visitors, her whisper almost a breath:
