Growing brighter. Warmer. Stronger. Inside her mind, Luna's voice echoed gently. "Do not fight the sanctuary." Elara closed her eyes. "Become one with it." She took a slow breath. Instead of forcing her magic outward, she allowed it to flow naturally. The city responded immediately. Silver light surged through every ancient rune. The sanctuary and the Moonborn became one. The result was breathtaking. Thousands of silver butterflies appeared throughout the city. Each one made entirely of moonlight. They fluttered gracefully through the battlefield.

The silver-lined chains wrapped around her wrists were glowing cherry-red, reacting to the volatile cocktail of energies surging through her veins. "I am more 'in here' than I have ever been!" Sofia roared, her eyes flashing from a blinding, celestial violet to a dark, predatory crimson. "I can feel the moon, Nomo. It’s not just a rock in the sky anymore. It’s a drum. It’s calling to the rot in my blood, and the starlight in my soul is trying to tear it out. It hurts! It feels like I’m being unmade!"

Each arch shimmered with a different color. Blue, rippling like a river. Red, flickering like flame. Green, alive with curling vines and the smell of fresh soil. Her hand was raised towards the baby's face and suddenly, a bright blue smoke formed in her hands and as it rose, out came a beautiful blue butterfly, larger than any normal butterfly I had ever seen. A glittery dust came out of its wings that shore like diamonds in the light and it rose even higher, leaving behind a trail of glitter dust in its wave.

I closed my fingertips, carefully holding something fragile not wanting to hurt this little one, and opened her palm to place the butterfly on it. "It's a butterfly" I don't know how she did it but she guessed it right, there was a certain glow on her face that was missing earlier. The butterfly spread its wings, and they were glimmering golden. "It feels surreal" She exclaimed with joy and touched the insect which shuddered and quickly flew away towards the moon flowers which were glowing brightly under the shade of night. The sky was clear now as the moon hovered above us with a certain glow that was brightening the whole forest.
