“Good. Now imagine that but on steroids. And crack. And more steroids. And maybe mixed with a fever dream no one asked for. That’s a mate.” I blinked. “So… a soulmate?” She shook her head. “No darling, soulmate is soft. Cute. Romantic. Mate is… violent destiny. Mate is permanent. Mate is stick-to-you-like-glue energy. Fated mates are merely legends and a biological reaction between two compatible people for breeding. If there is no compatibility with their personality, all that happens between them would be physical and nothing more. She shrugs. “Not everyone has the privilege of knowing who their soul mate is, I mean their tattoos might match like Bianca and Kota's but that doesn’t make them soul mates. It just means their compatible with each other, meaning if they both breed their offspring will be powerful depending on how high the % is. But a soul mate is different from a “perfect match”. You know what that makes us? " he bites my neck gently. "Soulmates."

"Soulmates are those that we've known many lifetimes, have had many karmic contracts with, and with whom we have resolved conflicts. Marriage partners may or may not be soul mates, though they will be a soul contract. With true soul mates, there is no struggle. What's left is love. "– Karen M. Black

He sat comfortably again and began, "Ok. Now that I established I am a werewolf, let me tell you why you are here." Now that caught my attention. "The moon goddess, the goddess who created us, had also created a soul mate for each of us. Simply called a mate." he waited so that I was able to catch up. I nodded for him to continue."
