The security guard stands up and says; "Okay. Everyone, start to pack up your stuff. We will be leaving in two minutes." I put back my canteen into my backpack. I look at Dr. Smith, I see on her leg, is one of the most sizable spiders in the area. I tell her softly; "Look at me in my eyes, and please do not move." I extend my arm and touch her leg with my hand. The spider walks onto my hand. Once the spider is on my hand, I slowly start to take my hand off her leg and put my hand on the ground until the spider walks off slowly by itself. Dr. Smith looks surprised at me and says;

I start to climb down, gripping the cloth rope with everything I have. Don’t look up, I tell myself. *Don’t look up.* But I do. He’s there. Peering out the window, knife in hand. And then I see something peeking from under his sleeve. A spider web tattoo on his wrist. The same one the man outside had days ago. He raises the knife. No—no, no, no He starts cutting the cloth. “Please!” I scream. “Don’t—” The rope snaps. My body freefalls.

He says. "Now. I want you to get out of this car and place everything you're hiding on your body in front of you where I can see them." He instructs but I don't move. "You can move closer." He instructs into his earpiece and I instinctively look around. Flashing lights from another car appear and stops behind us. Another man with brown hair stops and moves to the back. I look between the car and the man beside me who holds a smirk. "I believe we haven't officially met. I'm the Spider." He says making my head fully snap to him.

Chapter Twelve Elena’s POV The lights dimmed. The bass from the DJ’s booth pounded harder, like a heartbeat echoing through the underground club. Spider’s voice cut through the haze of smoke and perfume. “Tonight,” he shouted into the mic, his grin wide and sharp, “a new angel graces our stage. Fresh, pure, untouched. Give it up for… Angel!” My blood froze. Spider’s hand shoved me lightly between the shoulder blades, pushing me toward the golden cage. “That’s you, mouse,” he whispered near my ear, his breath hot and dangerous. “Angel. That’s your name now. With that golden hair and those doe eyes, you look like one.”

Josh POV The elves woke us at dawn and the frustration that had been flowing through me yesterday returned, along with a new feeling of dread and resignation. We thanked Chieftain Wallace and Elder Myles, and now Allie and Mulberry were crying and hugging. Mulberry had brought along Spidey, and I noticed that there were plenty of elves who were equally wary of Spidey as I was, which satisfied me. Despite what the girls thought, I wasn’t a sook for being terrified of a giant fucking spider–it was just common sense to be scared of him.

‎"Mr. Charles… are you jealous?" The air between us thickened—warm, electric, dangerous. His gaze drifted downward, slow, intentional—settling at my waist. Something in his expression shifted, darkened, like a storm cloud gathering behind his eyes. Before I could even process it, I felt something tickle my arm. A crawling sensation, slow, heavy. I looked down— ‎A large spider. ‎"Fuck—!" I screamed, instinct taking over as I practically threw myself into Charles’ arms, clinging to him like my life depended on it.
