“We need a…” A heavy buzzing noise fills the air, cutting Tumak off. We all raise our heads to the skies and see humans, or at least, what I think are humans, with wings like those of dragonflies strapped to their lower backs. Sparks and colours surround their wings and hair, but two women stand out from the group. Their colours remind me of a rainbow.

I turned to the looking glass again to examine my new appendages. There were two pairs. The higher set was significantly larger, and bat-like in shape, with curly black thumbs. Between the black fingers there was leathery webbing, marked with a pattern like that of a common rose butterfly’s wings—alternating stripes of black and grey, with scattered red dots in the corners. The lower, smaller pair of wings had tails like those of a swallowtail, and they conformed to the same pattern, except red spots ran more plentifully down their sides. “I’ve never seen wings like these,” said Salem, gaping in awe. “You really are like something from a fairy tale.”

It looks like a woman, but she is at least twenty feet tall with eight legs and a round, disgusting spider body. "Oh?" The woman tilts her head, and a shiver slips down my spine when I notice all her teeth are razor sharp. "What do we have here?" She raised the vial and sprayed it dead in the witch’s face. The witch shrieked. It was an enormous, horrible sound for something that started shrinking almost immediately, her whole huge, twisted shape collapsing in on itself, less and less of her with every second, until there was nothing left towering over us at all. She was… Just a spider. An ordinary, unremarkable house spider. Not even a black widow, but the kind you’d find in a bathtub and barely think twice about, scuttling around in frantic circles in the grass.

Their wings remained translucent just like dragonfly wings but they each had different colored wings. I remembered seeing green, red, and yellow wings and since they were closer to the hovering lights. Their wings flashed glowing streams of glittering luminosity that resembled the reflection of light on soap bubbles. The howl of the werewolves nearby alarmed my auditory senses. I knew I had to find an escape immediately. I was in the wrong territory on the wrong night. My heart rapidly beat as if it was participating in a marathon. I quickened my footsteps and began running again.

Typically Dragons were immensely large, but this one got two sets of wings, a larger pair set atop the muscular shoulders, and a slightly smaller pair set lower back that tucked below when folded, necessary to propel the massive body through the sky and fly.
