I know that some (or many) of you may think that this book is too short, but I did that on purpose to keep the main plot going. I hope you don't mind and will still love this book. He flashed out large flames from his left hand, melting the webs before they connected. He finally pulled ahead of them and caught up to Lexi. Both panted heavily as they ran forward. Lexi sprinted towards a smaller tunnel entrance and when Jack reached it he blocked it with another fireball. "It's okay," he called, breathing heavily. She slowed ahead of him and bent over, hands on her knees as she tried to catch her breath.

Jeff scanned their faces. “Jeff.” Kevin made his way to his son’s side and viewed the lifeless bodies. “What have you done?” While his father spoke from what seemed like miles away, Jeff replayed Mr. Drake’s final word. He hadn’t understood at first but was now transported back to the teacher’s lecture: ‘Many spiders have spinnerets that aid in putting out silk for their webs.’ Everything came into focus like someone adjusted the ring on a pair of binoculars. He met his father’s eyes. “You should run.”

Allen yelled back annoyed as he wriggled against the threads. “Oh, come now partner. I came to rescue you, didn’t I?” she replied. Smirking at his predicament briefly, Chiri then threw the knife in her hand. Slicing the threads on Allen’s arm. He wasted no time to fire another shot at the monster. This time hitting her directly, the spider-woman screeched as the symbols of a hex began to appear across her body. Carving themselves into her skin and extremities, the creature curled into herself.

Before Father could answer, the silver threads in my gown suddenly flared with violent crimson light. The silk snapped against my skin, pulling me toward the open balcony as though an invisible rope were tied around my waist. A deep pulse vibrated through the floor. It wasn’t a warning. It was a call. Beyond the balcony, a single crimson thread burned through the black fog, stretching from the courtyard to the silk around my waist. And at the other end of that glowing blood-red line, a shadow was scaling the northern wall.

Adam didn’t dodge and let Clark grab his shirt. “No,” Adam answered him with a smile. ” I just want to give this to you.” Right away, Adam released a robot spider from his hand. The spider carried electricity on its legs that would give sting on the skin where it crawls. Adam successfully put the spider inside Clark’s shirt. “Ouch! Ouch! Ouch!” Clark shouted making all eyes land on them. Clark tried to get the spider out but it was quick and he could feel the stings on his body.
