Chosen Mate

Chosen Mate

The squirrel, sad that his mission was intercepted, raced from the branch of the tree to another in order to get the ants to leave him, still holding on to rhe nut like it's light depended on it. I laughed at the small event I had just witnessed. I tsked and ignored the squirrel and the ants and began to make my way back to the pack. I tensed when I noticed that there was a movement behind me. It was the same kind of walking pattern I had noticed before when I was going over to Alpha Arnold's pack. I doubted if it was the guards of the pack or any pack for that matter since this part of the forest was neutral ground to every one of us.

Be careful what you wish for

Be careful what you wish for

Show daddy how scared you are… I hide behind the hedge , hidden away from her. I am able to walk freely up and down the passage way but on the outside of it - I use this to my advantage. “So… You want to play cat and mouse , do you?” I speak in a cool calm and collected voice from the furthest point away from her. I watch as her head whips to the sound of my voice – must have scared her when she saw nobody. Her eyes are roaming everywhere – looking for me. She looks away from my direction , and I take this opportunity to throw a pebble through the hedge in front me , towards the hedge on the other side of the pathway.

He's Whipped

He's Whipped

I smiled and bent over, lowering the branch. "Hi, I am so sorry I almost smacked you to pieces," I smiled, keeping my voice gentle. "Glad you're okay. What are you doing here in the time of night?" I chewed my lip and chuckled to myself, thinking that the squirrel might actually answer me. But then it just looked at me and jumped again, scurrying back towards the bushes where it had been before. Moved by curiosity, I moved to where the bush is, parting the leaves, and behold—I saw three other small and cute squirrels huddled together in a nest of leaves.

Married to A Cruel Billionaire

Married to A Cruel Billionaire

Please God, save me. Positioning the vase I gave a hard pull at the clothe as half of it came out of the rod, and something small brownish caught my eyes. I force-ceased my action in the mid-air, my mouth pursed. Huh? A squirrel sat on the windowsill eating something. As its eyes found a glimpse of me it jumped on the terrace and with another couple leaps, it was out of the building and back in its home at the giant tree beside. "Ninja stalker squirrel, was it?" I shook my head chuckling to myself.

I love the story. Not short yet not long and did not find any unnecessary drama. Btw, i just love karen. She's so sweet and funny. She's the most young at heart and mischievous grandma ever. The wedding bouquet scene was just so funny! Hahahaha

I loved this book. it kept you on the edge of your seat trying to find out what was going on, and who was behind all the bad things happening. what a plot twist finding out who the villain was. finally both of them were able to have their happy ending. I love the epilogues.

The Rejected Alpha

The Rejected Alpha

I turned my head and crouched down even lower into the water, using some of the rocks as a shield. My heart was racing as I was looking at the thick bush with whatever was lurking behind it. My eyes widened when from inside the bush out jumped a ... Squirrel. Huh. It just came to the river bank drank some water and it was gone, up in a tree. Phew, that was close. Don't be so sure. The sun was finally almost out of sightin the sky and the light was slowly beginning to fade. Now was the time. swam back to the river bank and looked around again.

Currently at 124 Chapters 2023 September 6. I heard the book was abandoned but i hope not. The author left a note in chapter 116(?) saying her book was stolen but that she is editing it and finishing it. Fantastic writing style. I hope the author continues.

Second Chance For The Broken Luna

Second Chance For The Broken Luna

The squirrel suddenly raised its head. I froze instantly. Every muscle in my body locked. I did not even dare breathe. The squirrel twitched its nose, tiny black eyes darting around suspiciously. Please do not run, I begged it in my mind, Please. The seconds stretched painfully. Then, apparently deciding nothing was wrong, it resumed chattering to itself and began pulling a large acorn from one stuffed cheek. Relief flooded me. Slowly, carefully, I edged closer. Closer. Closer. Now.

Rejected Twice: Redeemed by the Cursed Lycan

I was trained to fight either. I raised my nose to the sky and perked my ears up, listening. I heard a quiet scuffle coming from a distance and I ran towards that direction. I saw a small squirrel. It had not noticed me and went about licking its paws. I could not harm that animal. It was so cute. My hunger could wait until I find a less cute animal... like a deer. I sat down, watching the squirrel for a few minutes before it looked and saw me. It squeaked and ran up the tree in fear.

Queit Places: A Novella of Cosmic Folk Horror

Queit Places: A Novella of Cosmic Folk Horror

Spring would arrive soon, the life would come back into her garden and she would have someone to help her get it into shape. Sally left the garden and began to climb the hill that led up to the forest, keeping close to the large hedgerow that ran up one side. She listened very closely for any breeze or movement in the thicket. Twice she stood dead still, convinced she heard some movement in the shrubs, but each time she was mistaken and no presence made itself known. The hedge came to an end around three-quarters of the way up the hill where it met another hedge at the far corner of a field. Sally was feeling a little deflated as she passed it, but her spirits rose when she heard a sudden co

Master, Apprentice

"This is not for us to eat, Ian, but I will make sure that we get some later," she replied. "Help me move the cage. Don’t worry," she saw the look on his face, "he won’t wake until I tell him to." She held up a dart and Ian smiled. They hauled the cage for a long distance until they were close to the private riding area of Lord Kurn. Sylvia put the squirrel in a bush next to the trail and covered a rag in its blood. "Wait here, Ian, I’ll be back in a little while."
