Stabbing Pain Under Left Shoulder Blade When Breathing Novels & Stories

Then something slams into me. A sudden, sharp ache blooms deep in my shoulder, and I jolt upright with a gasp. What the hell? The pain radiates outward like fire licking through my veins. Before I can even process it, another jab slices up my neck. I choke. My lungs refuse to expand. I can’t breathe.

Even though I had taken a half dozen Motrin tablets, the pain in my ribs caused me to flinch as I ran my fingers over them. I made an effort to take deeper breaths, but as soon as I did, a searing agony shot through the left side of my body.

I spray an abundant amount so I can breathe, and not smell them. I turned on the vent, hoping that will help as well. I rub my chest, the pain still hurt so bad. I'm surprised I'm even standing and walking. The pain is unbelievable. My body is still sweating like crazy. It trembles, it's almost as if I'm cold and my body won't stop trembling.

My shoulders tense, my focus narrowing as I search for something, anything, that explains it. There is nothing. And that is what makes it worse. Because my wolf does not react like this without reason. Something is off. Something I cannot see. Then pain slices through my side. Sharp. Sudden. It knocks the breath out of me for a second, my body reacting instantly as my hand flies to the spot. There is nothing there. No wound. No blood. Just skin. But the pain lingers, deep and real, like something just tore through me. A phantom pain.

I tried to breathe, tried to hold on, then she twisted the knife. Everything exploded. The pain came back stronger and sharper, tearing through me like fire. It felt like something was ripping inside my shoulder, shredding through muscle. My scream broke again, louder this time, my eyes squeezing shut as tears streamed down my face. “Where is that fighter now?” Crystal shouted, her voice filled with cruel excitement. “The one who escaped our father? Where is she?” She pushed the knife deeper and my body jerked. A broken gasp escaped my lips. My nose burned, my lungs struggled to pull in air and my shoulder throbbed violently, each pulse sending fresh waves of pain through me.

' All of a sudden, I felt an excruciating, sharp pain in my left shoulder. The ache making me drop to my knees as I slowly bring my hands to the area. Jahred runs over and takes his dress suit off, to only drape it over Fonz. I was now being yanked by my hair, indicating that my body must be in shock and dropped my barrier shield down. Jahred then rips out a small dagger from between my shoulder and arm pit. the blood filling my once white blouse. I in so much pain, I couldn't even talk. The air in my lungs were disappearing, my knees were sore and my stomach was cramping.

It throbbed faintly, a constant reminder of what had happened. My lip was split on the side, the dried cut reopening slightly when I pressed my tongue against it without thinking. I tasted iron immediately. I looked lower and that was worse. Even with the bandages wrapped tightly around my torso to my left shoulder, I could see the bruising beneath, dark purples and blacks spreading unevenly across my ribs, peeking through the edges where the wrap didn’t fully cover. Every breath pulled against them wrong, sharp and shallow, like my body refused to expand fully without reminding me of the damage.

My hand hadn't even touched the bed when my knees suddenly gave out. I stumbled forward. Then crashed onto the floor. My cane rolled away from me. I tried to breathe. Once. Twice. Nothing. My chest suddenly felt stiff. Pain shot through my ribs. I pressed a hand against my chest. “Fuck…” The word barely escaped my lips. Breathing through my nose hurt. Every breath felt like someone was squeezing my lungs from the inside. My entire body ached. My vision blurred. I tried to push myself up. I couldn't.

My breathing comes out harsh, the quick breaths fanning strands of my hair from my face. Can things get any worse? I bring my knees to my stomach, the pain shooting in my side so unbearable.

Unfortunately, I wasn’t exactly in the right state to think straight after what happened last night. I tried to sit up, but a sharp sting shot through my shoulder, making me wince in pain. Something was wrong. The pain felt… alive. Every time I inhaled, there was a faint vibration under my skin—not from my heartbeat, but from the wound on my shoulder. I quickly pulled the blanket aside. A strip of white gauze was wrapped there, but through its thin layers, I could see a faint glow—silver, pulsing softly, like it was… breathing.
