Adam's POV… I walked as quickly as my legs could carry me to the back of the house, on my way there I almost broke into a run but I had to refrain myself because I didn't want to alarm anyone and I wanted to leave as quietly as possible to avoid any of the staff or security guards following me or worse running into Analisse and explaining why I'm leaving my own banquet. I was getting too excited, I wanted to know so badly what Valerie had planned for the day. She had always been creative and I knew that even if she wanted us to just sit down and do nothing it would still be the best birthday because I get to spend it with her. Valentine's Day was supposed to be the day Adrian Weldon proposed. The night before, he texted me, saying he wanted to give me the proposal I deserved. [Summer, you and our baby deserve a real family.] I held my phone and grinned like an idiot forever. I even picked out a loose white dress to hide my five-month bump. I thought it would be the happiest day of my life. Instead, I got to the mountain and learned the truth. There was no proposal.

My husband was a computer whiz, and he brought me along to work in Valen. Rent in Valen was steep, so we ended up in one of those chaotic, mixed-bag apartment buildings. The place was packed with edgy young girls in trendy Valenese outfits, their lips and tongues covered in piercings. They said Valen's adult entertainment industry was thriving, but after arriving, I realized it goes way beyond that. These people had turned their subculture into an art form, with every twist and challenge pushing the limits of my imagination.

Every resident here has to plant a tree for the cleaner air they promised. “Of course. That’s the least of what people pay for.” she takes another sip of water, but I see her doing the calculations in her head. I glance at the hallway, still no sign of Ivan. The kiss pops into my head and it strengthens my resolve. “How has work been?” Her brows furrow, and she looks up, and then about. The drawing has evolved in the short time she's been gone, taking on a haunting beauty that makes Lila's breath catch. "So," Lila says, settling onto a stool beside her friend, "are you going to tell me what really happened between you and the Alpha's son?" Dorothy's hand pauses over the paper. She considers deflection but finds herself suddenly weary of secrets. "I made him a Valentine," she admits, her voice barely above a whisper. "He tore it up without looking at it." Lila's eyes widen. "He did what?" "He didn't know what it was," Dorothy adds quickly, surprising herself with the defence. "He thought it was something else."

She hugs him to her body, whispering in his ear, "Giving mommy your virginity baby . . . that has to be the best Valentine's gift ever. I love you so much." The old grandfather clock downstairs starts to chime. Its midnight and Saint Valentine's Day may be over, but their new life is just beginning.

Her hips were practically perfect, fitting her tall slim figure. She adjusted her shirt properly, and cleared her throat a little trying not to stare at anyone. For hell sake, it was Valentine's day and Sam was being a jerk, how could he not even care when it was also her birthday. Valerie sighed when she looked at the glass of wine. Just one more sip from it, and that would be all. She decided to take just another glass and then leave if he still doesn't show up. Taking the last sip of her wine, Valerie poured a little more quantity inside the glass and dropped the bottle on the table.

Valentine laughs out loud heartily at that, “Nothing more than he deserves, I’m sure.” “Marvel wanted Stephanie to have a sleepover with them too” I informed him with a chortle. “Eww’ Valentine grimaces. “Eww?” I looked at him in confusion, “Why Eww? She’s gorgeous.” Even though I’m saying this, I’m smiling on the inside, knowing that Valentine has zero interest in other women. He seems to only have eyes for me. “She’s a stick figure” he says in disgust. “Um, she’s got a thin waist, but she actually has very distinct curves. I would love to have her body.”

Valentine glared at Andrea aggressively and roared, "I don't care, we must make a baby tonight." He grabbed Andrea's neck and forcefully kissed her, hungrily devouring her lips while trying to rip her nightgown. Andrea angrily pushed him away and scolded, "Scum!" Valentine landed on the bed and immediately fell asleep. Andrea's raised hand hung in mid-air. She was so enraged by Valentine's behavior and the stench of alcohol on his breath that she furiously wiped her lips and went to wash her mouth. Looking at the snoring man on the bed with disappointment, she decided to sleep in another bedroom.
