Stare Into The Abyss Novels & Stories

Everyone knows the saying, "When you stare into the Abyss, The Abyss Stares Back." Many know about phenomena about Black Magic, Hauntings, Disappearances that have a Chill to it and if you search into it something sinister follows you. My Question is, What is THE ABYSS? Is it another Dimension of Horrors? Or a Realm of Mystery that intersects ours on a regular basis? Or is it a Life Form of many Forms who is trapped in an In-Between State or was Banished from Our Realm because it didn't want to co-exist with new life and just wanted to eat and destroy and feed off of Fear?

After his successful sneak attack on the Happy, Xasha had no time to celebrate as the Abyss Emperor was speeding towards him slashing with a claw. The claw tore right through Xasha's body, but there was no blood. His body became transparent and disappeared. The Abyss Emperor felt a powerful blow to the back of its head. With the Attack being a surprise attack, the Abyss emperor was caught off guard with its defenses down. It fell from the sky and slammed into the arena. The Harpy came crashing down soon after.

As I peeled out onto the street, leaving tire marks on the pristine driveway, I knew exactly where I was going. The Abyss. The most exclusive, dangerous club in the city. The place where the monsters played. Tonight, I wasn't the prey. I was the bait.

She looked up, her gaze shifting to the far end of the room. Sebastian stood by the panoramic viewport, his broad back turned to them. He was staring out into the pitch-black void of the Aegis-7 system. The dark violet and burning gold veins along his neck were pulsing with a slow, heavy rhythm, casting an eerie glow against the reinforced glass. "But you... Commander," Elara whispered, the universal translator struggling to convey her absolute reverence. "When you commanded the swarm to kneel... the Abyss listened to you. I have never seen a Creator do that. I have never seen anything do that."

Ryan fell into formation at my flank. The tunnel narrowed. The core was close. The mountain inhaled through my son. I inhaled back through it. And this time, the abyss wasn't studying my child. It was studying me. The Queen did not walk into the abyss. The mother did. And the abyss— Had just been hacked.

“You can open deeper.” Kieran’s voice came rough behind me. “If you go deeper, you’re stepping into rogue law.” Dax’s eyes didn’t leave mine. “And if you don’t, you’re stepping into a cage.” The stone above us cracked. Dust rained down. And something began to squeeze into the passage.

"You told me that you would let me have all the credit! It's all your fault that I'm now like this! It's your fault!" Jasper looked coldly at Avery and said, "If it weren't for you, Ari and I would still have been together! You're truly a bitch! Why are you so hard to get rid of? Why are you still alive even after drinking so much contaminated water? I should have just killed you when I had the chance!" Jasper and Avery then began arguing loudly with each other while everyone in the research center watched. Eventually, Jasper couldn't hold out anymore. Under everyone's frightful gaze, every bone in Jasper's body suddenly shattered without warning, and he heaved his very last breath.

"I think it's dead. It stopped working when Nadia pushed her magic into the deer, nearly burning herself with it." Hestia reaches across the table and carefully removes the cracked stone. "It's the same symbols as before," she whispers looking up at us. "Did we ever find out what they say?" Calliope asks from Trey's lap. Katherine nods her head. "The symbols means the Abyss." "What is Abyss?" Knox asks. "I know you were looking into it before, but I can't remember what you said about it," he says looking over at Trey.

The rest of the group follows as we make our way closer to the fire. She reaches for an a piece of ember bark that sits in a bowl near the fire. Lyra takes a deep breath, and throws the ember bark into the fire. "I'm afraid I will never be enough." she says so softly I almost don't hear her. The ember bark burns so brightly I have to look away. My gaze collides with Callan who has a blonde sitting comfortably on his lap. Something ugly burns in my stomach. I force myself to look away, and direct my attention back to the fire. My thoughts begin to spin as I try to settle on what fear I'm going to give up.

The world didn’t go dark. It went negative. Anji drifted through a spectrum of colors that didn’t have names. It wasn't just code; it was the prehistoric echo of an ancient, adaptive organism that Sutherland had scraped from a deep-sea hydrothermal vent and force-fed into a, hyper-connected server farm.
