Starting To Read Books Novels & Stories

I know it sounded silly or hyperbolic, but it was how I have always felt, even since I was a little boy who didn't understand most of the words I read and would often be seen with a notepad beside me where I put down the words I wasn't familiar with. I have come to realise that it was ineffable— at least, for me— to put in words to anyone all of the reasons why I found reading to be more than just a hobby. I couldn't relate to people who saw reading as just a hobby— to me, it was that and a million other things. All I needed to be pumped at the start of the day was to have my coffee on the table beside me and then a book in my warm hands— there wasn't much I would pick over this.

I told him one afternoon, reading one of his letters. Elijah was sitting next to me, with one hand on my belly. “Emmett has included a reading plan for the first year,” he said with amusement. “What books?” I asked, frowning. “Inter-tribe political history, an introduction to defensive strategy, and illustrated animal stories,” Elijah said with amusement. “At least he added some stories,” I muttered sarcastically. “The note says they’re meant to be a break between serious topics,” Elijah said seriously. I brought a hand to my face.

Would it be a bad idea if I just… looked around a little bit? Surely he wouldn't react badly? Looking at the innumerable books on the bookshelves and feeling a rising sense of curiosity, I took several steps forward and leaned in to read the titles on the spines. My hands were firmly clasped at my back, because Goddess knew I didn't want to do anything to damage these books.

He should be with her, comforting her and not here. “Hey, Brianna,” he said with a soft laugh. “Learning to read is really important in life. It opens up a whole world of joy hidden in words, sentences…In books, stories. I made a promise to teach you and I’m keeping to that. So whether you’re interested or not, I’m going to read. If you don’t want to listen, you can go ahead and cover your ears. I’m going to start now.” He settled back in his chair, getting ready to read.

There is another addiction I have got since we moved to this place, but I don't know the name of it. Reading books. It started one day when Ramon took me for a walk, there I saw an old man sitting by the street selling books and for some reason, I stopped and stared at him until Ramon caught me starting at those books and gifted one to e. To be honest, a part of me thought, I don't know how to read but when I started reading, it was like I am unstoppable. And adding fuel to the fire, Ramon has been feeding my addiction quite well.

So long that I started looking around thinking of what to do, so I could keep myself busy. I didn't even have a phone like every child of my age. There was nothing that could keep me busy. The programs on TV didn't interest me at all. I didn't want to fall asleep so I stood up and walked to the huge shelves which were resting on the wall. I decided to go through the shelves and probably I might find an interesting book to read. As I went through the shelves, I became confused. I just didn't know which book to pick. There were a lot of books ranging from different spheres and works of life and a section for fiction.

It’s getting hotter. “Am I going to have to do it myself?” Can I? I look down at my tiny arms. Will they manage with the water and the soap and- “I’ll give it a half hour. “ I go. A half-hour, and if no one comes in by then, I try again for the books. “Come on,” I plead. “Give me something.” Anything? I picked up the next book without even bothering to read the title. I toss it open and start flipping pages. Nothing so far, just some illustrations. But it doesn’t take long to see it won’t be enough.

He glanced up the second I closed my door. “You didn’t sleep?” I moved closer to where he was sitting, placing my bag down on the table and reached for the bread instead of answering. “When did you start reading books?” He glanced at the book and back at me like he was surprised he was holding a book. “I started today,” he said. “Maybe I can just come to your school in the end.” I let out a laugh. “You don’t even have any idea on healing.” “I can start now.” I stared down at the bread I just Colleen my plate and I knew instantly that I wasn’t having any appetite whatsoever to eat it. I don’t know why I took it in the first place.

Hazel kept talking about the reading list in excitement, and I watched her in wonder. She used her hands a lot while she spoke, and it was seriously cute. She also had an habit of looking directly into my eyes, and as she rambled on, I found myself smiling. It wasn't because of what she was saying, it was just because the mutual feeling was just too good. “So when do we start? Let's say we'll conquer nine books in two weeks. Let's see who's faster at dribbling those pages.” “Uh, we can start anytime.” I agreed.

No Nut November month started on a busy note as more students crammed into the library for studying sessions. The reading program for elementary students meant more people were borrowing books they usually didn’t read to collect stars on their reading cards to exchange some prizes decided for the school. Mary sighed. It was a busy week.
