In one vision, I stayed forever, lost in endless nights of pleasure with Lucian why my real life was fading away. In the other vision, I walked away and returned to loneliness, the magic slowly dying inside me. As I finally slipped out just before 1 am, the grandfather clock in the main hall seemed louder than usual.

And today is my 22nd birthday and I will made a promise to my self that after 9 years I'll marry the man whom I saw when I turned my eyes open. And there, I saw a man straightly looking at me. If things will get better for us in that 9 years, I'll marry you. "Katie, let's have lunch." Yanna called me so I came back. "Uh... Guys I'm so sorry because I don't have a lot plates and other condiments here in the condo because I live alone... Hope you understand." I said.

As he was laughing behind me, I smiled a sincere one. It was almost midnight and Ed was busy in his phone. We told Anna and the others about our flat tire. They offered to come and pick us but we refused and decided we'll meet tomorrow morning. I was reading a book that was on my side-table; "If I Stay" by Gayle Forman. It was a romantic story. I glanced at Ed every few minutes or so. A question struck my mind and I closed the book, with my index finger inside from the top on the page I was on. "You said you have dated girls' right?" I asked.

“Do you think you’ll apply for any of the promotions?” Would I? I didn’t know. “I’m pretty happy where I am at the moment. I’ll look at the positions available of course, and who knows, maybe I will apply for one. I just don’t know.” The lounge started emptying out around us. I looked up at the clock, surprised to see we’d been in here almost an hour. “I should get back to work. Thanks again for understanding. I’ll see you around.” I turned to go, but Blake caught my wrist. His touch was gentle, sending a low hum of electricity from my wrist all the way through my body. Goosebumps raised the hairs on my arms. It even made my nipples stand up.

Next week I will have another scan to check the baby’s growth. I wished with all my heart that everything would be fine. After a few minutes, I was leisurely walking down the streets, enjoying the warm sunlight and soft breeze. It felt refreshing. After walking for a while, I had no idea why I ended up slowing down in front of a bookstore. My gaze lingered on the display window for a moment, stopping at one specific book. “Little Bear Loves His Mama the Most.” The title of the book, with its light blue hardcover and beautiful illustrations, made me stare at it for a long time.
