Seventy-six Windy Gate was a small triangular house that resembled a pointed hat, or that appeared as if perhaps there was a larger house under the ground that was beginning to sprout. A hedge of wild roses shielded the neat lawn from the road. Obsidian slabs, veined with rivers of gold, pulsed faintly as if alive—each breath of wind setting off glimmers that danced like trapped souls. We turned left from the avenue/street onto what looked like the entrance into a separated part of this mini city. I looked at the huge, metal...almost jail like gates. Guest quarters huh? "Fuck!" Brian screamed behind me. I whipped around to find him holding his hand which was glaring red and looked blistered. I walked up to him in two quick steps and assessed his hand with my own.
