Married To A Monster

Married To A Monster

Zara’s POV I didn’t sleep. I didn’t even blink properly. The house had been turned into a hospital—white coats, clipped footsteps, doors that hissed instead of creaked—but I still felt the wind of old corridors. The ghosts here had manners. They waited until you were alone to breathe down your neck. The note was folded in my pocket until the paper softened with body heat. If you want the truth, visit her doctor. No name. No logo. Just a veiled finger pointing at a door I couldn’t yet see.

Blood match

Blood match

The note had once been pristine—perhaps just a scribbled warning or plea—yet now it looked like a fragment of a nightmare. I hesitated, then carefully peeled the note from the cold, sticky flesh of his patient. The skin was necrotic in patches, and the paper clung as if it were a part of him—tightly bonded. With a wet, sucking sound, he peeled it away, tiny shreds of decay peeling off with it. The message was brutally simple: “DROP DEAD.”

Horror Games and Burritos

Horror Games and Burritos

“Begging won’t help. When we get back to the real world, I’ll beat you to death!” In the horror game, players couldn’t attack other players, or they would suffer backlash. But in the real world, there were no such rules. “Just right, I’m hungry. I’ll try the burrito you made.” Jack grabbed the deluxe burrito and stuffed it into his mouth. But he suddenly bit into something foreign. He spat it out and found a severed finger. Terrified, he immediately threw the burrito away and slapped me several times. “Damn it, who told you to put something like this inside?”

Mafia Men VI - Alessandro's Games

Mafia Men VI - Alessandro's Games

And beside it, a note, messily scrawled in handwriting so jagged it looked like it had been carved into the paper: “Free yourself and run, darling. I’ll savor every fucking second of hunting you down. Each scream. Every tear. All the steps you’ll regret.” Ghost... Oh, fantastic. The candles were everywhere. Lined up like soldiers along the ground. Their flames flickered, casting eerie shadows that played tricks on my vision, making the graffiti on the walls come alive. Faces, words, symbols. Nothing that made sense, but everything that felt... wrong. A chill crawled up my spine as the light distorted the images into something haunting, something that grinned at me from the dark like it knew

SCARLETT THE LAST FERROMANCER

SCARLETT THE LAST FERROMANCER

The uncertainty gnawed at me like an open wound. I suddenly heard a soft rustling noise from outside the room. My heart raced as I jumped up, the book slipping from my hands and hitting the floor. I moved cautiously toward the door, every sense heightened, and slowly turned the knob. A small, furry creature zipped into the room, its bright eyes glinting with mischief. It was a messenger bat, one of the many spies in our supernatural realm. The bat flew around the room once before landing gently on my shoulder. I carefully reached up to remove the tiny scroll tied to the bat's leg. As I unfolded the paper, my heart pounded with anticipation. It was a note from Scarlett, her handwriting chaoti

Horror Instance: Happy Home

Horror Instance: Happy Home

"The game difficulty has been upgraded. Only high-level ghosts may remain in Happy Home. Mid-level ghosts must evacuate the residential complex immediately." The fatal mechanical voice echoed throughout the entire building. "What?!" Nicole couldn't help but scream. Granny Rosa was the only high-level ghost they could currently access. Without her as a messenger, they would all die here without question. My father and brother's expressions flickered with panic as they paced back and forth, unable to find a way out.

“Marked as Property, Stolen by the Alpha”

“Marked as Property, Stolen by the Alpha”

Eat something before saving existence. Which honestly sounded accurate. But there was one problem. One letter remained unopened. It sat alone in the middle of the kitchen table glowing faintly silver-gold beneath the lantern lights. No name written on the envelope. No symbol. Just blank paper sealed shut. Everybody noticed it eventually. Naturally this caused concern. Noah pointed at it nervously. “That’s haunted.” “Not everything mysterious is haunted,” Cal argued. The envelope suddenly moved slightly. Cal immediately stepped backward. “…I have reconsidered.”

She Runs with Wolves

She Runs with Wolves

It never did, and it never would again. Satisfied that I’d remembered everything, and more than a little proud of myself for actually writing it all down, I slid off the chair and pulled my aching body into a stretch. My back clicked, and I let out a wide yawn as I checked over my notes. Black smudge, the same scent that was at Pera’s attack, Toby’s throat ripped (I think?), Hawthorn’s past. I nodded to myself, and then frowned. I crouched down and added Fox?, before deciding that was stupid, and scribbling it out so hard that my pen tore through the thin paper. I left the notes on my desk and clicked out the light. Falling asleep was easy. Being asleep was not. My dreams were a swirling hor

Such an exciting read so far! I am enjoying getting to know our main characters and discovering how their lives have come together while trying to anticipate what might happen next as each chapter is released. Having just finished the entirety of The Beta’s Daughter, this author is an amazing writer

A fantastic second novel, with a refreshingly different tone from the previous entry. The mythologies in this are very well developed and I am very excited to see how the story unfolds! The protagonist and her love interest and very engaging too and I am rooting hard for them!

Shadow Pact

Shadow Pact

"You're not going to be my first." Emily nodded and took a deep breath to steady her nerves for the pain. It was over almost immediately. One sharp poke and it was done. After that, she really felt foolish for making such a scene. Until the blood drops welled on her finger and Paoli suddenly had fangs. Big fangs, and his eyes glowed with a ruby red light, just as they had the night they met. She couldn't quite stifle a gasp of horror as he swiped the drops from her hand and turned his face away.

The Fake Engagement

The Fake Engagement

I am trying my best not to fall apart, my friends will be more worried if I show them that I am scared… Then I remembered the note… You know what’s waiting for you tonight? Death, Ms. Croven. D-E-A-T-H. I sense someone staring at me, and I wandered my eyes around once more. On the corner, there’s a group of friends giggling and chuckling with each other. On the railing on the side of the hallway, there’s a man with his headphones on… showing no care about the world.
