Running Away with Alpha's Baby Bump
The ground, the air, my mind.
I tightened my hold on Storm. “You’ll have to kill me first.”
It tilted its head. “That can be arranged.”
Before I could move, the river surged upward, waves breaking in midair like claws. I braced for the strike, but Storm lifted his head.
“Stop,” he said.
The world froze. The river hung suspended, droplets glittering like glass. The mist retreated, curling away from him as if in fear. Light flared from his eyes, bright enough to burn through the fog.
