As we stepped out of the store, the scent of blood became overwhelming and I dug my nails into his arm. “Okay, let’s go home.” He smiled. I couldn’t talk for fear that I would jump the first human that passed us by and we walked a little faster. As soon as we stepped through the doors of our building, the scent was gone. As if it had been sealed outside, and I turned to look at the doors. That was when Fynn explained why he and my father had chosen this building. They had already started work on the building to stop the scent of human blood from pushing through the street. He's polite, well-mannered, a true gentleman. Theo knows him well, right, Son?" At that, I finally looked at Theo. I was not mistaken. There was something dark in his expression, something sharp. Annoyance flickered across his face before he could hide it.

He says it’s……an unusual situation.” I hang up the call and dial Steve, the accountant’s number with precision, eager to know what’s going on. He picks up on the second ring. “A word, please.” I say and end it before he can speak. Steve and his mother live in the packhouse after being rescued from one of the rogue packs we’d defeated years ago and when we found out that he’d studied accounting, he’d been working for my father and I ever since.

She doesn't look up at me once, which is annoying. Not like I want her attention or I like it.

He looked sheepish for a minute but then smiled. "I'm glad you're so good in bed," Stacy said, "Cuz I don't keep your around for you brains," she said. Steve grinned widely and winked. "So you're smuggling a python, eh?" he asked, looking at Duncan. Duncan chuckled and shrugged, still not one to brag. Steve laughed then, heartily. "My man!" he said, turning and raising his knuckles for Duncan to punch. "You got a snake in your boot?" he asked.

He hoped that his boss Steve Lee, a man with an extraordinary status, would trample Harvey to death. But Steve quickly approached Harvey, all the while trembling in his boots, so much that he almost fell flat. He glared at Brock, wanting no more than to choke the fool to death. ‘What nonsense is this bastard spouting?!’ ‘If I offend this man, I won’t even have a burial place for my body!’ Before Harvey could say anything, Steve hurried forward and slammed his knees on the ground under everyone’s startled stares. Brock was stunned! Stacy was stunned!
