SARAH'S POV I sat there in the cold dark alley for quite a while and not even a rat passed by, I was starting to get scared when I heard faint laughter, more like a chuckle from afar. Humans are dumb enough without zombies!” I smirked, letting her dramatic complaints fill the room. “You’re telling me the fearless Krystal Hunter, stock-market prodigy and queen of penthouses, can’t handle a little gore?”

How long has she been in this fucked-up world looking after her sisters more than herself? I ignore the drumming of my heart and say, “We found someone who might or might not have been Hana.” Her eyes narrow. “What does that mean?” Her words quiver. I fucking hate delivering such news to her, yet I don’t blink at killing. But I have no reason to hold back the information from her, and if she insists, then the truth is hers. “The southern part of Romania is swarming with zombies, and the girl we saw had been half eaten by the infected, so like I said, it was hard to see her identity. She seemed young and had chestnut-colored hair.” I shrug. “Could be anyone.”

With no shadows to defend her, she was contemplating if she would throw the egg if worse came to worst. The skeletal form of a squirming arm turned into a full-blown zombie girl crawling from the soil, which freaked the heck out of Cent. Though it was entertaining to see a zombie clad in a green dress and jewelry pieces while its eyes were almost dangling from its skull. Fred's severed head fell to the ground with a thud. (Author's Note: The term "I give you mercy" was from Z Nation. A TV show in America is mainly about zombies, and the show comes right after another TV show called Black Summer.) I screamed at what I saw because we are not used to seeing such a scene every day, right? Liam tried to close the app, but the screen wouldn't budge. "Who made this?"

Streams of white light energy hit them and sent them and the bodies they possessed down into the abyss. I moved my hand, aimed at zombies, and sent them to the darkness of the Underworld. A zombie in the form of a naked shifter had cracked the back of a screaming Neratomay Elder, and I shot it, sending the both of them into the abyss. Paul was punching a zombie that had entered the body of a Were-bear, its mouth the size of an alligator. Though Paul knocked the bear off balance, the bear wasn't stunned. I aimed my power at the bear's cavernous mouth seconds before it would have locked onto Paul's face. I returned that abomination to the Underworld.

We were on high alert all the way. The emergency lights were strobing, threatening to fizz out at any moment. The air was thick with the stench of blood and the rancor of rotten flesh. The growls of zombies added to the noise in the air. Right when we were about to arrive at the exit, a familiar voice called out for help, "Help! Please!" We checked out the source of the shout and realized it was Yves. He was trapped in a corner, and three zombies were tearing his flesh out. His right arm was ripped from his torso, and blood spurted like a fountain.
