Screams echoed in the distance—wolves, warriors, mothers, children. But none of them reached her ears fully. Everything sounded muted. Hollow. Like the air had been sucked from the world.

With a heavy heart, she left the room, closing the door behind her, the echoes of Echo's cries reverberating in her ears. Stories say it was formed when one of the first gods died and their magic… fractured. What’s left is an echo of their mind. Their memories. Their hunger.” Kael’s jaw clenched. “Most people who hear the Echo lose themselves.”
