“We’re exporting shelf chaos?” Yam laughed nervously. “We are.” They read the invitation aloud, lingering on words like “gracefully honest” and “a portrait of staying in a world obsessed with leaving.” It felt surreal. Later that night, curled up on their couch, Yam asked softly, “Do you want this?” Franc paused, considering. “I want people to know staying is possible. That choosing someone is worth the mess.” Yam nodded. “Then we go.”

We just resume our walking while I was willowing myself in embarrassment. It made me realized that I had just disobeyed one of my mother's lectures.

Then Maya said quietly, “You need to stay inside. Lock your doors. Don’t go to the arena. Not until this dies down.” I nodded even though she couldn’t see me. “Okay.” After we hung up, I sat there on the bed, staring at the wall. Every few seconds, another notification lit up my phone. I added “You should go back to town as soon as you can, ”Zoe said “I can't, my mom said I'm supposed to stay here for a few more days”I said “OK, but stay away from him as much as possible, ”they all said “Hey, it doesn't have to be true, could be a nightmare as well”I replied, finding that very hard to believe, I was trying to convince myself.
