Buying a silk hairband meant saving up for a long time. He took the new hairband and turned it over, inspecting it. Same as the old one. Gold thread. Silk. Deep blue. But new. Clean. No smell of sweat or rust. He pressed it to his nose and inhaled. *Lily-of-the-valley.* Cold. Sweet. Not the faint, evaporated-and-soaked-again kind. Fresh. She'd only just put it in her pocket. The pheromones were still strong. He tucked the new hairband inside his chest plate, against his heart. The old one was already in her pocket.

“Okay, serious question. When my hair falls out… pineapple or bald eagle?” I raised an eyebrow. “Pineapple?” “Yellow wig. Spiky on top. Very tropical. I could wear a Hawaiian shirt and call it ‘chemo-cation chic.’” I snorted. “Bald eagle. Full patriotic. I’ll get you a tiny American flag headband.” “Deal. But you have to wear one too. Solidarity.” “Done. We’ll look ridiculous together.” She smiled softly. “That’s the plan.” The door opened quietly. Killian stepped in carrying a small bouquet of sunflowers and a paper bag that smelled like garlic and butter.

"Of course not! It really looks pretty on you!" Zea feeling giddy as she looked at herself in the mirror while wearing the dainty silver headband. Too happy, she didn't notice that the guy earlier was already staring at her the whole time. He just stood there. Looking intently at Zea and the headband she is wearing. "This one's nice. I'll take it!" She quickly put down the item and began to rummage through her bag to get her purse. "Wrap this up. I'll take this."

"Hey there, young man. Why not buy your girlfriend a cute headband?" Jade was about to say she wasn't Julian's girlfriend, but Julian quickly paid and handed her a glowing headband with a smile. "Try it on." The headband was bright red and twinkled with lights, looking quite cute. Jade held it in her hand, feeling a bit awkward since such accessories were usually for young girls, and she felt it didn't suit her. "Um..." Jade was about to decline, but Julian was faster, placing the headband on her head.

“Shall we change it? Do you want your headband with a ribbon?” She agreed so I looked back at him. “Sir, we’ll just change Brianna’s hair clip.” “No rush.” After he agreed, Brianna and I went back inside the room. Switching her hair clip for a headband was easy; her hair accessories were conveniently displayed on the bed, making the change quick and simple. After putting on the headband with ribbon, she pointed to the green headband with large flowers on the right side. I picked it up and tried it on her.

She nods, eyes wide and serious. “So, would you like the yellow or purple dress, Lilybug?” She points to the purple dress, finding her purple unicorn headband. “Purple dress, white stockings and the headband?” She nods. I help her into her clothes, asking her if she wants a ponytail or braid with her headband. She chooses a braid like me, and then points to my own purple headband. I smile at her, putting it on and asking if she wants us to match? She nods, and I smile. Good thing I know my daughter and knew she would choose purple and unicorns over everything else - I chose a light purple summer dress myself to match her.

She had curled her hair, giving the short length a fuller appearance and even wore a simple, white head band to compliment the look. “So do you,” She responded, staring him up and down, admiring his looks.

I chuckle softly. Then, at the cabinet, I pick up a hair tie and pack my hair together, making one quick braid, and then, tying it at the start, I roll my hair into a bun. Then, I grab a rhyming bandana and use it to cover my head. I tie it, but the braid still shows. Now, everything is complete. I smile at myself for a job well done.

On one side, a tiny white fabric tag with delicate embroidered letters: the name of a children’s boutique in Monaco that only certain people know and even fewer can actually afford. I’ve walked past it before. One headband in the window costs an intern’s monthly salary. The ribbon is the exact model I put in Poppy’s hair this morning. Only… this version is neater, straighter, not a single strand out of place. As if someone wanted to “fix” the crooked ponytail he’d just commented on. My throat goes dry. Next to the ribbon, there’s a small folded card. Not the boutique’s official stationery. Plain white, thick card stock.

Short white dress, with blue stripes on waist and neck. I just brush my hair, put on foundation, mascara and lipstick. Also, a little bit of blush. By wearing strawberry perfume since I was a girl. I brought a small backpack, to put my cellphone, a little money, and can store children's toys, if they carry them. I went outside and saw Gerald brightening up his kids.
