And definitely no skulls.” Leesa smiled sweetly. “I guess you’ll just have to deal with the embarrassment of being seen with me.” Cali bent in front of her dresser and rummaged through one of the drawers. She pulled out an orange bandana adorned with big purple polka-dots and folded it into a two-inch wide band. “Tie this around your head,” she said, offering the bandana to Leesa. “It’ll give your outfit some edge, at least.”

It outlined her petite body beautifully and showed off all of her best assets, including the toned muscles of her upper arms. The other ladies glared at me, but the truth was, I was the quickest among them all. I was the only one who would have beern able to return with the flowers so quickly. I reached into the bundle and carefully took out an already woven violet headband, stepping forward and placing it gently on Sophia's head, careful not to mess up the delicate braids pulling her locks back from her face.

It’s almost time for the main event.” More waiters appeared with more silver trays. I peered at the headbands. They were encrusted with jewels, each one slightly unique. Emeralds, diamonds, rubies. Some bands were thick, others delicate. There was something on the top of the headbands, but I couldn’t see clearly from where I was standing.

Before I know it she’s already done, my hair is in two thick french braids tied off with silver ribbon. “I’ll be right back!” She says walking out of the bathroom. After a few minutes she comes back in with a garment bag. “Don’t worry it’s not anything flashy or gaudy.” She reassures me as she opens the bag. Inside it a pair of comfy black leggings and an off the shoulder maroon dress, with long sleeves that hook around my middle fingers and flares out at the bottom reaching just above my knees.
