The metal groaned and buckled as the Duke tore through the rotor housing with his bare hands. ​The explosion lit up the coast in a brilliant, terrifying orange. ​I slumped against the stone wall, the "Oxygen Debt" finally hitting me. Not because he was far, but because he was killing. The bond was feeding on the death he was dealing out, and it was making me feel stronger, faster, darker. ​I looked at my hand. The black vein wasn't just a line anymore. It was starting to branch out, forming the shape of a blade across my palm.

I stare at the lovely city of Manchester as I weigh my options. It’s either bankruptcy and death or marriage and coronation. I guess the latter isn’t much of a bad idea, only it is. Whatever the case, my father’s murders must pay. I have a secret after all, I can hardly die.

Voices rose in panicked shouts. “They're too strong!” “Our weapons do nothing!” My heart hammered against my ribs. We were fighting with courage, with skill, with all the ferocity of our proud pack. But we were fighting against an impossible foe. The Death Goddess’s power was too strong, too pervasive. This was not a fair fight. This was a slaughter.

“Bigger like what?” “I don’t know, Diana. Honestly. We both saw nothing, didn’t we?” I snarled. “That’s not what I’m asking. You know something, Edric. What could possibly be bigger than death?” I stopped, and her soft frail figure collided with my hard-walled one, maybe because she was directly behind me and didn’t have enough power to stop as quickly as I did. “Curses,” I told her. “Curses are bigger than death. And when you summon a curse…”

"We are stronger together, stronger than any pack, stronger than any human! Do you hear me? We are unstoppable!" The soldiers around them faltered. Some fled, some froze, paralyzed by the horror of witnessing not two warriors, but a single, monstrous force of nature. The air seemed to vibrate with the intensity of their shared power. Whereas mine was the ability to look into a person's soul, apparently I could look into someone's soul as deep as I wanted if I learned how to use my powers. She then told me that even though I was a skilled mage there were certain problems I faced as my powers were stronger in intensity as compared to others due to the volatile nature of my soul. Hence, making me a potential target for the Black Mages who kept their frightening reputation at bay by draining strong and powerful souls like mine to increase their strength so as to one day take over every mage alive. I then asked her, where I came from? Did I have a family?

But we were also surprised when Death's whole fimension suddenly cracked. "Death! What's going on why is your dimension developing cracks?" I cut off my promise mixed with dread due to the sudden tearing and cracking of Death's dimension. "Did I say it and it will happen. This is probably the side effect of the attack you were made by the man you faced earlier." Death's serious promise made me frown. "Wait Death, his power is so strong? I thought your power only weakens when a Supreme Being is near you – but why are you affected by a Fantasian?" I asked him. He took a deep breath and his face became serious.

“I don’t have all the power I desire right now, but soon enough, it will be mine. As for what you can do to stop me… the answer is nothing, you all are weak and pathetic and what’s worse, you tie yourselves down with weak people and family that only serve to make you weaker.” As I spoke, my goons nodded in approval, “That’s what sets us apart from you lycans, for us, we value strength!” “Yeah!!” they chorused in agreement. “Power!” “Yeah!” they chorused again. “The weak have no place amongst our rank, the weak are sifted away that is how we remain strong, that is why you all have to die, in the new world that I will create in my image, there will be no room for the weak.”

James asked, “Are you stronger than Xuri?” “Hmm…” After briefly considering it, Yhala replied, “Strictly speaking, we’re on par with each other. However, she’s a ruthless character. In a battle, she will have the upper hand. After her resurrection, the Death Ephialtes will be completed, so she’ll probably be slightly stronger than me. I’ve seen the Death Ephialtes before. It’s a magical yet very evil Supernatural Power.”
