Xander pulled her in and pressed a combination of buttons that got the lift moving. “You know what your problem is? You think you’re invincible, you can save the whole world and come out unscathed. In case you haven’t noticed, genius, even Superman has his kryptonite.” Serenity huffed, getting irritated at his dismissal. “Oh I’ve noticed, the sling on my arm and bullet hole in my side happens to be a constant reminder.” He shot back and dragged her out after him. For a moment Serenity was stunned into silence, somehow Xander didn’t seem to be saying the words to her, but rather at her.
