I exclaimed, my voice louder than intended. Gabriel reacted swiftly, appearing before me in an instant. I startled backward, almost losing my footing on the roof's edge. "Are you sure you're ready to know the truth?" he asked, his eyes piercing.

Gabriel just smiled. “Stop baiting her, Gabe. You're rotten as Forbidden Fruit inside,” Samael laughed, taking a glass of white wine from a server. “Speaks the serpent,” Gabriel joshed, sipping his drink. He winked at me. “Don't worry, Fianna.
