She had read many stories and novels about surrogacy before, but she never expected to find herself living one. In those novels, the male protagonist only needed an heir but not a wife. Hence, he would find a woman to conceive and give birth to his child. Once she had the baby, he would give her some money to leave and vanish from the male protagonist's world. Paige pouted again. She wondered, if Chris gave her money after she gave birth and asked for a divorce, should she leave or stay? Chris looked at Paige, realizing she was lost in her thoughts. “Perhaps the stress of attempting non-traditional methods to conceive caused your subconscious to envision a more traditional method.” I ponder her words. “I wouldn’t describe intercourse with my best friend’s husband while she instructs us as a ‘more traditional method’.” I take my seat once again. “Have any new feelings developed toward Kennedy or Jackson now that you are officially their surrogate?” “I didn’t magically grow closer to either friend in the past three days,” I state. “I have not developed romantic feelings towards Jackson, or Kennedy.”
