Scratching for Survival

Scratching for Survival

I was so hungry I saw stars. Everything had double vision. The book of 20-dollar scratch cards Mom gave me felt like a countdown to my death. Only one card remained. The 30 dollars I had won before this, even though I had been incredibly frugal, eating nothing but plain bread and canned soup for every meal, had lasted two weeks at most. My stomach felt like an invisible hand was squeezing it tight, cramping with pain. So I clung to one last shred of hope and called Mom.

The Rejected Curvy Luna Queen

The Rejected Curvy Luna Queen

**Kelly Thompson's POV** The sprout isn't a sprout anymore-it's a *cage*. Its once-delicate stem has thickened into a lattice of thorns and starlight, ensnaring the field of wildflowers in a grotesque parody of a garden. The fragile blue sky is now veined with luminous green cracks, bleeding light that scalds the earth. The survivors whisper of miracles, but I know the truth: miracles are just disasters in disguise.

THE BILLIONAIRE'S BROKEN HEIR

THE BILLIONAIRE'S BROKEN HEIR

He gripped it and looked around the garden with the expression of a very small king surveying territory he finds satisfactory. Dominic kissed her temple. Stayed there for a moment. She looked at the garden, the warm light, the grass still showing where Elias had run through it, the ordinary beautiful evening of a life she had built from survival and love and all the difficult, unglamorous, irreplaceable choices in between. She had thought, for a long time, that surviving was the victory. She understood now that surviving was only what had made the victory possible. The victory was this. The garden. The evening. The small hand gripping her finger. The man beside her who had chosen her, kept c

Her Deadly Revenge

Her Deadly Revenge

There was a chainlink fence in the backyard, but it wouldn't do the job when it came to biters. We planned to visit the hardware store and grocery store to see what was left. Seeds and canning equipment were vital, plus I wanted to find a library. I wanted to gather books on a slew of topics since I knew very little about most everything in this new world. Specifically, I needed to find guide books about gardening, canning, hunting, and even being a mother. Having to grow up at such a fast pace was difficult, and I was admittedly ignorant in many categories of basic human existence.

This book was great, no at all why I expected. The blurb feels like it’s for the wrong book and every tag is incorrect. But really really really great book! Can’t wait for read for of the authors writing!!!

The blurb and the title don’t match this book. The story is about a zombie apocalypse, a bunch of strangers that meet and their relationships that develop throughout. I thought the ending was good, but I would love to read a sequel for some much needed closure. Overall, it’s a really good book.

Demon's Evolution

Demon's Evolution

We simply needed to find the right plants to fuse. But I don't have time for that right now, and Wise is too preoccupied with the convoy's affairs. On the other hand, I was baffled by something. I had finished reading the entire book of Necrosmith, so I was far more informed than any other human at this point I looked at the plants that were thriving despite the snow and cold. I was confident in my identification because information about these plants was included in the book. "Butler, I'm not sure I understand. On the ground, there is an abundance of food growing. It doesn't make sense that the locals would starve to death.'

Surviving my mate

Surviving my mate

Hearing him call me that made Zariah stir and made me melt inside a little. I had done it. I had escaped my ass hole rejected mate and found my second chance mate. I still had a lot to do but I had Amelia, Kyle, Dominic and Emron to help me. I didn't know what would happen but I wasn't completely worried about it and neither was Zariah. I would rescue my pack though from Elstan, I owed them that much. I just hoped it wouldn't be too late. END BOOK ONE

Survival In The Parallel World

Survival In The Parallel World

I look everywhere, I must remain alert in case there are enemies or predators. Everything seems to be fine so I finish washing. Then, i proceed to wash the root, flowing water makes it a lot easier. After, I run into the bushes to hide while I chew the root of the silver flower into a paste, its taste extremely bitter but not as bitter as losing an arm would be. I know I'm acting like a wild animal, but, arent wild animals able to survive out in the wild precisely because they are overly cautious?

Surviving the Zombie Apocalypse

Surviving the Zombie Apocalypse

The abnormal weather had killed many survivors. In my past life, I'd only arrived at a safe zone five months after the zombie outbreak. There'd been elite soldiers and over a hundred thousand survivors there. Over a hundred of these safe zones were scattered across the country, significantly contributing to mankind's survival. "Why aren't we leaving now since the safe zones have already been set up?" Mom asked me. I looked at the snow outside. "It's highly likely we'll freeze to death in this weather if our car breaks down." …

The Billionaire’s Regret Clause; One Year Together. One Love

The Billionaire’s Regret Clause; One Year Together. One Love

She looked at the garden visible through the window — the foxgloves in their third year, the vegetables beginning to fill out, the fruit trees in blossom. She said: "A garden in its full establishment. The original things planted in the right places. The unexpected growths were managed correctly. The full expression of each element. The garden knows what it is." She held Ernest's gaze. "The five books are the full expression of an argument that could only have been made by people who lived it. The argument is not portable to a different life. The argument is this life. The five books are this life in the form of an argument." Don was quiet for a long time.

Watch Me Soar!

Watch Me Soar!

Eve slowly rocked back onto her heels as she wiped the sweat off her forehead before turning her attention to the orderly row of tomato plants that she had just planted in her thriving garden. Considering that she had only started gardening a little more than a year ago, she was extremely pleased with how well it was coming along. Over the course of that period of time, it had developed into a reliable source of fresh produce, as well as a safe haven for her to retreat to when she needed to get away from the rest of the world.
