I was so hungry I saw stars. Everything had double vision. The book of 20-dollar scratch cards Mom gave me felt like a countdown to my death. Only one card remained. The 30 dollars I had won before this, even though I had been incredibly frugal, eating nothing but plain bread and canned soup for every meal, had lasted two weeks at most. My stomach felt like an invisible hand was squeezing it tight, cramping with pain. So I clung to one last shred of hope and called Mom.

Seeds and canning equipment were vital, plus I wanted to find a library. I wanted to gather books on a slew of topics since I knew very little about most everything in this new world. Specifically, I needed to find guide books about gardening, canning, hunting, and even being a mother. Having to grow up at such a fast pace was difficult, and I was admittedly ignorant in many categories of basic human existence.

We simply needed to find the right plants to fuse. But I don't have time for that right now, and Wise is too preoccupied with the convoy's affairs. On the other hand, I was baffled by something. I had finished reading the entire book of Necrosmith, so I was far more informed than any other human at this point I looked at the plants that were thriving despite the snow and cold. I was confident in my identification because information about these plants was included in the book. "Butler, I'm not sure I understand. On the ground, there is an abundance of food growing. It doesn't make sense that the locals would starve to death.'

I look everywhere, I must remain alert in case there are enemies or predators. Everything seems to be fine so I finish washing. Then, i proceed to wash the root, flowing water makes it a lot easier. I know I'm acting like a wild animal, but, arent wild animals able to survive out in the wild precisely because they are overly cautious?

She said: "A garden in its full establishment. The original things planted in the right places. The unexpected growths were managed correctly. The full expression of each element. The garden knows what it is." She held Ernest's gaze. "The five books are the full expression of an argument that could only have been made by people who lived it. The argument is not portable to a different life. The argument is this life. The five books are this life in the form of an argument." Don was quiet for a long time.

Eve slowly rocked back onto her heels as she wiped the sweat off her forehead before turning her attention to the orderly row of tomato plants that she had just planted in her thriving garden. Considering that she had only started gardening a little more than a year ago, she was extremely pleased with how well it was coming along. Over the course of that period of time, it had developed into a reliable source of fresh produce, as well as a safe haven for her to retreat to when she needed to get away from the rest of the world.
