The Day I Stopped Waiting

The Day I Stopped Waiting

" Ethan froze mid-step, his body visibly trembling, before he rushed away. With that, the chaotic room went silent, leaving just me and my mother. I kept my head lowered, silently squatting to clean up the broken shards. My mother sighed deeply and softly called my name. "Claire, I've known everything for a long time now. "The day you came back, I had waited. I waited for you to kneel in front of your father's portrait and confess the truth to me. But you didn't. "Then that heartless man showed up to deceive me, and I waited for you to wake up and tell me yourself. But you didn't." She looked at me disappointedly. "Claire, are you truly planning to entrust yourself to someone like Ethan West

The Day the River Stopped Singing

The Day the River Stopped Singing

Truth be told, I had not taken it seriously, thinking she was just trying to spare me from embarrassment. However, Sienna stopped in her tracks, her voice serious as she said, "Jim, I meant every word. "You've just come out of a rough marriage, so I get that you're cautious. However, I'll take it step by step, and win you over with my heart," she said with sincerity. It caught me off guard. I told Sienna I needed a little more time. Later, I got a message from Marvin. Charles was battling depression, which kept him from working normally, yet he could not stand the thought of Holly having any male assistants around her.

'' Sylvia sighed. She got out of bed, heading towards the bathroom to do her toilet business. That day, she wanted to be productive and not laze about, waiting for Remus to get back. She wanted to put her hands in many things but that was when she remembered that she had to finish up the book and with that, Sylvia pulled the book out of its hiding page, opening to its last page. Sylvid didn't know what she would encounter but she had a feeling that she was going to badly miss the book that had given her answers more than anybody else.

The Day And The Night

The Day And The Night

No matter how willing they were to feel each other, some invisible manacles were there, holding both of them apart. The sky was dark but still belonged to the morning, as it was an early hour striking 3 am on the time measuring tool. A deafening silence was filling the vacuum of that busy road, carrying no one else than those two bodies, which might be each other’s, but was no more than a stranger to it. No car could be seen passing by, as if the road has blocked itself to give time to these strangers crying their hearts out inside, but have nothing to utter outside, even if it is a sob. Though the illuminating lights were so bright, ready to compete with the sun, the world of these souls ca

"I found it accidentally when I got a history assignment at that time." Angel grabbed the dull-covered book, then sat casually on the floor. He began to open the yellowed book page by page, reading page after page very seriously. "Angel, why are you suddenly interested in the vampire problem?" Asked Bella who sat beside the girl. "So, vampires really exist?" Angel asked back with his gaze still on the book page. Bella nodded slowly. "As explained in the book, vampires do exist and are very close to us. As shown in the film, vampires are quite sensitive to sunlight and prefer to live in damp places."

The Day I Stopped Waiting

The Day I Stopped Waiting

That was what made it worse. Because the part of it that had made the rest feel worth having had walked out with a suitcase. Elliot picked up his phone again and called Nora. It went straight to voicemail. He tried once more. Voicemail. He typed a message, deleted it, typed another. I'm sorry. Deleted. Please talk to me. Deleted. I'll do anything. Deleted. Every sentence sounded too small or too late. In the end, he wrote nothing. He set the phone down and looked at the folded note in Nora's handwriting.

And that narrative always cast me as the villain. I wiped away the last of my tears. My voice was steady when I finally spoke. "I’m leaving." I grabbed Lucy’s things and made my way to the door. But before I could take another step, Alessandra’s saccharine voice stopped me. "Are you mad at me, Giovanna?" she asked, her tone dripping with faux innocence. "You don’t have to act so hurt when Vincent and I did nothing wrong." “Don’t listen to her,” Vincent scoffed. "She always puts on a face when she doesn’t get what she wants. Right, Giovanna?"

The Day She Stopped Waiting

The Day She Stopped Waiting

The Day Lily Met the Ocean For nearly two years, Lily had lived beside the ocean. God. She saw it every day. Heard it every night. Watched sunlight dance across its surface from nursery windows. And yet— she had never actually touched it. Fair. Partly because Adrian believed the ocean was approximately eighty percent danger. Reasonable honestly. Partly because life had simply been busy. But today? Today was different. God. The weather was perfect. Bright blue skies. Warm sunshine.

10 chapters in and I hope it’s second chance book. I love a good “leaving my shitty husband for a better man” plot but sometimes I love a good “I need to get my wife back” plot as well. Sometimes I want to read about how a relationship was pulled back from the brink and I feel this is goi to be it.

The Day We Signed the Divorce Papers

The Day We Signed the Divorce Papers

“How long ago? Who’s been treating Anna these past few days? Find out immediately! Who the hell is reaching into my house?!” As his car turned the corner, thick black smoke filled the sky above the villa. He slammed the brakes, stumbled out of the car, and dropped to his knees when he saw the house. “Anna… no!” Everyone tried to stop him from rushing into the burning house. He screamed in despair, unable to form complete sentences, only repeating her name. By dawn, the fire was finally extinguished. From the charred ruins, rescue workers carried out a severely burned, unrecognizable body.
