Ten-year-old Rhett Grimfang glared at me. I was just about to turn and leave when the hem of my gown became stuck at the corner of the table, tearing it open with a loud rip. "You scheming she-wolf! That was the dress my mother loved most!" Rhett's eyes were red as he stared at me with hatred. "Rhett… you're lying. Sylvia loved gowns inlaid with moonstone crystals. How could she possibly have cherished this plain, old white dress?"

The little girl added, "My mommy says that even though she has me, she still needs her own life too. She’s super busy at work every day, but she says she’s happy." Celia said nothing. Her lips pressed together tightly, and discomfort stirred inside her. She felt as if the little girl was showing off, though she could not quite explain how. She secretly thought that it would be nice if Sylvia could come pick her up at noon. Sylvia was a doctor of pharmaceutical sciences. She was very impressive, and all the other children’s parents knew who she was. If Sylvia came to pick her up, everyone would know that Celia had such an impressive adult by her side too.

She felt relieved when she closed the doors and went back to her seat. Like any other assassin, she had done her research. She was iconic in the fashion industry and had her own fashion line and was an investor in many popular cloth and shoe brands. She was rich, famous and was head over heels for Levi Wushi. However, even though she had everything she could ever want, she couldn't get any love or affection from Mr. Wushi.

Rhydor “Father, how do I look?” Sylvia twirled playfully, her eyes gleaming with excitement. I looked at her and took in her appearance. Sylvia wore a fitted, deep maroon training set,tight but flexible pants tucked into sleek black combat boots, and a sleeveless leather vest over a long-sleeved black shirt. The vest bore our pack’s insignia, etched in silver across her chest. Her hair was tied into a tight braid, and thin, protective leather guards wrapped around her forearms. She looked every bit like someone ready to take on the battlefield,not just a spoiled Alpha’s daughter.

All we wanted was to be Jacob and Sadie and be free. I found a woman by the name of Doctor Riley Kim. She is a well-known Psychiatrist here in Baker with a hell of a reputation. She is also very expensive and hard to see. I got an appointment for Sadie and me two weeks after Sadie turns eighteen. We hoped she would work with us once we told her our situation. We needed her to see Sadie as a mentally healthy woman. We needed her to see how wrong Sadies reports were. The only thing we worried about was how the doctor could get ahold of Sadies records without giving our location away. It wasn't going to be easy, but we had to try something.

Lily asked. "Ivy Garcia. She is one of the top successful businesswomen in Washington. Very beautiful, rich and powerful. Don't you know her?" The shop attendant said excitedly. "You must be very important for her to come to look for you," she added and Lily smiled but was wondering why such a person would come to look for her.

I quickly step out to see a woman whose voice sounded awfully familiar, arguing with Delilah, the only model acquaintance I got along with because she was just as bitchy and spoilt as me. “You think I am a loser with no friends. Okay, first of all you couldn’t be more wrong, I have a lot of friends, Elizabeth, Victoria, Danika…..umm...my mother, my grandmother who, fun fact, knitted this sweater for me.” The woman said proudly as she gave Delilah what she thought was a savage reply. Yep, that’s Emily. Delilah just shook her head as she tried to process Emily’s personality, “What’s going on?” I intervene before the fight gets out of hand.

A seductive voice came out of the shadows with a beautiful woman walking toward them. “Would I suffice as a powerful backer, Mr. Anderson?” It was Dynasty Syrum, walking and stopping next to Tabitha. Claire, struggling, stopped and stared at the woman next to her sister. Steve began sweating, and his heart beat faster as pure fear escaped him. Having Sylvia Elon as a sister was one thing, but to have the Princess of Swanville as your backer was another.

She has all the poise, grace, and confidence of a truly seasoned warrior. “Don’t tell me you’re about to sell me one of your miracle investors.” I shook my head. “No. I’m talking about Sylvia.” “Who?” “Sylvia Rhodes. She’s one of the best surgeons in the country. Works at Rhodes Hospital. Brilliant mind, steady hands, and heart of gold. She helped Andrea through a tough time recently.” David nodded slowly. “Ah. I think I’ve heard her name somewhere. But she’s in New York, right?” “Yeah. But she travels for professional consultations sometimes. If you’d like, I can connect you. She’s someone who doesn’t just treat patients, she actually cares. You’d be in good hands.”
