Monsters and humans alike fell into a soft lull, as if all was truly right in the world but a shock to the system would one day bring a resurgence of monster violence and they are going to need heroes to protect them from the monsters among them. October 31, 2017 The sun was slowly starting to crawl across the horizon as the bright ball of orange and gold light gave off its last whips of warmth. The bright azure sky turned a deep golden orange as splashes of pink and twilight purple crept from the lowering sun echoing outwards against the rest of the sky. The clouds turned a golden color as if they were clouds descended from the heavens.

“Access denied. The Vault is a sanctuary for the Living. Not a tomb for the Dead.” "She’s not dead!" Caleb roared, stepping toward the sphere. "Open the gate, or I’ll blast this glacier into the ocean!" “Hostility detected. Engaging defensive protocols.” Suddenly, the snow beneath their feet began to shift. Four massive, metallic shapes—centipede-like drones with serrated limbs—burst from the ice. They moved with a terrifying, liquid speed, their sensors locked onto the Titan team. "Protect the Chairwoman!" Silas shouted, his rifle barking as he opened fire.

The air in the warehouse was thick with the scent of spent shell casings and the metallic tang of blood. Killian stood amidst the carnage, his chest heaving, his eyes glowing with an unnatural, predatory light. The neural stabilizer had turned him into something beyond a man—a blur of lethal efficiency that had left the Board’s tactical team in pieces. I looked at him, and for a split second, I didn't see the man who had obsessed over me. I saw a mirror. We were both monsters now, tuned to a frequency that the rest of the world couldn't hear.

"Keep telling yourself that, baby but we all know the truth." My phone buzzed in Dante's hand and it was another message from Marcus. I'm coming for you soon. Sleep tight. Kai smiled and it was the scariest thing I'd ever seen. "Let him come. I could use the entertainment.”

Chapter 146: The Shattered Hives The sound of shattering glass was a synchronized symphony of doom. Across the cavernous breeding facility, thousands of cylinders released their containment seals at once. The bioluminescent orange fluid poured onto the pristine white marble floor in a steaming, viscous wave, rushing around Natalia’s boots like a rising tide of liquid fire. From the empty husks of the vats, the obsidian monsters stepped forward. Their seven-foot metallic frames gleamed under the emergency strobes, their elongated, scythe-like claws clicking rhythmically against the stone as they caught their first scent of living prey.

I wrapped my left arm instantly around Maya and Valen, interposing my body and blade between the smoking breach and my family, while the twins drew their daggers and positioned themselves behind my heels with savage growls. From within the burning abyss, a colossal silhouette began to emerge. It was not the Titan in its full form; it was a herald of the deep—a three‑meter‑tall creature forged entirely of living obsidian and liquid magma that dripped from its joints with a horrifying hiss. Its face had neither eyes nor mouth: only a smooth black volcanic‑glass mask that reflected torchlight with spectral cold. The monster bore no weapons. "Move!" Dax roared, shoving my father toward the stolen SUV. "The ceiling is coming down!" But the loading dock wasn't empty anymore. Standing between us and the exit was a nightmare of chrome and hydraulics. A Titan-Sentinel. It was twelve feet tall, a bipedal tank with a rotary cannon for an arm. In the original timeline, this thing had killed three of our best riders. It had taken us six chapters to figure out how to scratch its paint.

“I've never seen such a creature in our clan. Perhaps it’s merely tainted.” This outright denial was understandable. Tyron didn’t want to acknowledge the hideous beast as part of his lineage. As Adrian contemplated, he clenched his fists tightly. “Heavenly Body Training Art!" he shouted as he charged forward, his massive fist extended. The monster brandished its grotesque tentacles at Adrian. They were covered in black mist and unknown fluids, evoking a sense of discomfort. However, Adrian pushed aside any hesitation. His fist radiated golden light as it swung down at the monster with relentless force, aiming to destroy the creature.

Behind the wall of crushing black water, the true nightmare emerged. It defied human comprehension. The Titan was a moving mountain range of jagged, obsidian-like volcanic carapace and pulsing, bioluminescent purple flesh. Massive, mile-long tentacles whipped through the air, generating localized hurricanes with every movement. Its sheer mass displaced so much water that the Pacific Ocean seemed to drain away from the shoreline, leaving miles of seabed exposed before the tsunami crashed down. "Hold the line!" Jack’s voice roared over the global comms, his heavy Defender mech bracing its massive hydraulic legs deep into the Californian sand.
