I opened the door and found it's kiaan who had brought the power bank. I step aside so he can enter inside. "Here is the power bank Maria said you need one." He said and I nodded "actually my phone battery is dead that's why. I need to charge my phone then call my ma to inform about my stay here." I told him "oh you can use my phone as well." He said but I smiled nervously "Actually I would have done that but I don't remember their numbers." I said with sheepish smile Blame the phone. We have lost the habit of reciting the numbers.

the receptionist asked. "Good evening. Do you have a land phone?. My phone's battery died and I have to make a call to my friend." I asked with a smile. I didn't lie entirely. I can't use my phone because the battery isn't dead. I threw it on a wall when I couldn't control my goddamn anger. "Yes, sir. It's over there." The receptionist said while pointing her hand towards the land phone. "Thank you," I replied and went towards the land phone.

I pulled out my phone and dialed a number as I left the room. “You there? Tell the garbage truck it’s time for pickup.”

The screen was scratched from my fall, but it was still intact. A photo of Tori flashed on the screen, accompanying the blaring ringtone. I hesitated, but ultimately answered the phone. "Oh my god, Aurora." Tori practically screamed on the other end, and I cringed away from the phone. "What the fuck? I got you a phone and you can't even answer the damn thing! Swiftly, I approached the nightstand, my heart pounding. Thankfully, the phone was unlocked. With trembling hands, I dialed my mother's number and pressed the phone to my ear, silently praying that she would pick up. "Please, Mum, answer the phone...please, please," I muttered under my breath. After several agonizing rings, her voice finally came through on the other end. "Hello, Mrs. Hutton speaking. Who is calling?" Her voice was a mixture of curiosity and caution.
