Both of them looked recovered, their systems having reset during the ride home while I played chauffeur.
“It better be worth the wake-up call,” Teo grumbled, leaning against the doorframe and yawning. “We’ve got a gala tonight and a kingdom to take over. I need my beauty sleep.”
“Get in my room and tell me what you smell,” I commanded.
They both laughed, thinking I was losing my mind, but they followed me anyway.
“Drop the games, kid,” Teo muttered as he stomped into my quarters. Then, he stopped. It was like he hit a physical wall. Nic stepped in right behind him, his pupils blowing wide as the scent hit his lungs.
