"I don’t want him to hurt again; I just want him to be fine, to be with me," I whisper, my eyes still shut tight, but the tears keep falling, relentless and heavy as if each drop carries a piece of my anguish. Silent tears rolled down my face. Why? Why couldn't I just have a normal family and a happy life? I never wanted to hurt anyone. I never even got involved with the things they did. But maybe I wasn't innocent either. The money that was used to raise me was dirty, stained with blood and tears. No matter how much I tried to deny it, I couldn't escape payback forever. I just never thought the price would be my own family trying to kill me. When Neil saw me crying, his whole face darkened with fury.

I whisper. I close my eyes and take a deep breath, hold for ten seconds, then release. I did this until my heart calmed ddown. I felt like I needed that. I needed to do that. It helped me cope I think. I hear a wooden squeak. I turn and see Soul standing on the frame of the door with such a pained expression. His eyes glistened with tears until they fell down silently. But they didn't hold sorrow, or loss, they held sadness and longing. "Are you okay Soul?"

"Matteo! Oh... damn it, Matteo..." I screamed his name into the misty darkness of the bathroom, shaking with the rhythm of the immense release that surged through the tub. My legs trembled, collapsing against the edges of the tub, the showerhead in my hands falling into the foamy water, scattering the bubbles, while I just stared breathlessly at the ceiling. As the warm, intense fluid rose from within me, mixing with the water in the tub, two hot tears streamed down my temples. But this time, the crying wasn't from anger or jealousy. It was tears of a raw, painful reality that tormented my soul.

They became an invisible, colossal hand of fate, squeezing the very life from my soul. Just as I was about to suffocate under these false accusations, from the deepest part of the sanctuary, a roar that shook the very foundations of the soul erupted, carrying with it the ancient fury of the oceans.

My hands are shaking as I held a blade over my pulse. My palms are sweaty and cold, tears stream from my eyes as the past events in my life unfold before me. I watch my life rewind with an emotionless stare as all I feel now is that I am so lost. Hopeless. Sad. Alone.
