He strikes a match, his dark brows furrowed slightly in concentration as he lights the kindling.
“This place is amazing,” I say, taking in the cave’s grandeur. “How did you find it?”
The kindling catches, and he looks up at me, a small smile playing at his lips. “When I was ten, my dad and I had a huge argument, and I decided to run away from home. I headed up the trail, planning to hide out in the mountains before setting off for another pack.” He chuckles, shaking his head at the memory. “I stopped on the outcrop for a rest.
