With the very last thread of my strength, my waterlogged fingers caught a ledge of sharp rock. I dragged myself upward out of the surf, every breath a ragged sob, my knees scraping raw against the stones. Crawling on my hands and knees, blind with tears and salt water, I hauled my body into the dark, echoing mouth of an ancient sea cave just above the rising tide line. Then my arms buckled. I collapsed onto the freezing stone floor, shivering so violently my teeth clicked together, trapped in the dark as my consciousness slowly began to fade. Creed's POV

"Hold on. What actually happened at the cave? You haven't told us any of that yet." The five of us exchanged a look. Tiago leaned back in his chair and shook his head slowly. Rowan and Atlas both gestured toward Leo and me to take it. We walked them through an abbreviated version of everything, the dive, the cave, the barrier, the chamber, and what was actually waiting inside the vial. Valerian and Carlos listened without interrupting, but when we reached the part about what had actually been in the vial, the hope drained visibly from both their faces.

Miles remarked. “I thought as much,” Theodore turned around and started walking toward the straight path ahead of us. “Wait till I take you guys to the local canteen for our special tarco but first, we must see the cave,” I licked my ice cream and caught the liquid dripping down my fingers with my tongue. “Ah, the cave. Glinda said the town’s history is etched there,” “Yeah. Come along,” Theodore said and took the lead. Miles chuckled. I turned to him. “What?”

He cursed at me and continued climbing ahead without looking back. After going a little further, I became so exhausted that I couldn't move anymore, so I sat down under a tree and fell asleep. When I woke up again, I found Ted standing in front of me, his personality completely changed. On our way down the mountain, the locals had indeed told me that the back of the mountain was a cliff. Even if one made it across, they still wouldn't be able to reach the scenic area. Could Ted have died back then? And did his ghost rewrite my memories?

Joe hissed, “Or perhaps someone triggered off the cave-in a few of weeks ago. How about the opposite tunnel? What if we are imprisoned? Lelandi’s voice trembled, making her sound desperate. Lelandi needed to know she was safe and loved and that people like Joe would never hurt her again, so Darien longed to plunge into the tube, snap Joe’s useless neck, and hold her. “Be quiet! He asks us. The men and I shake our heads. Voodoo purses his lips and mutters. “Stalagmites are found in caves. When I commented about it, he pointedly told me that he got it on a trip to the Cenote cavern near the Yucatan Peninsula, which I found odd. Even though I don’t know Irving very well, I can deduce by his dress and manner that he is not the type of man who cruises through caves for fun.”

She loved him too much to let him suffer because of her. So she kicked the covers off her legs and got off the bed. Making her way slowly towards the door, she prayed that no one would see her. The voice of Xavier and Melody could be heard as they discussed with Tabitha. She held her breath and ran past the narrow passage towards the stairs that led to the dungeon. "That was amazing",Tabitha said after Xavier finished his tale of their quest. "What was more amazing was the creatures that guarded the cave of Tamarin",Xavier said. "I've never seen such enormous creatures in my entire life".

They cautiously neared the cave, using their heightened senses to look out for any danger. A faint moan reverberated from inside the cave. Chad gasped, his breath stuck in his throat. He was familiar with that voice. In a whisper, he said, "Avy." He moved ahead impulsively, without giving it any thought. His brothers attempted to restrain him, but he shrugged them away. "Chad, hold on!" Killian made a hissing sound. "It might be a set-up!" However, Chad was unreasonable. He delved into the shadows of the cave, his eyes adapting swiftly to the dimness. The scene he witnessed would stay with him for many years.

He reasoned "I don't know how I can still breathe and talk. I saw...I saw the cave.... It sits deep in the Mountain, away from all the trails, its hidden behind a cove of twisted trees... The entire rock wall is black... I - I never should of gone in there, inside, theres a fire... bright purple like a deep bruise.. it's...alive.. The things gather there, that's where they go. There's so many of them.. The cave, its magic." She listened, hanging on every word the man said to her.. Okay, clearly he's crazy, a magic cave... he thinks he's dead, he's dehydrated and delusional.. she thought to herself, thankful to have an explanation for his erratic behaviour. There were worms at the side, they were really looking disgusting, but I had to keep moving, so that I would get out of there as fast as I could. When I got out of there, I got to the cave, but I didn't see Sam and others there. "Sam! Tasha! Adam!" I called out to them and my voice echoed out. I didn't hear their voice and I noticed that what looked different was that there was no waterfall. I didn't understand what was going at the moment. There was a great waterfall before I entered the tunnel which took me at least fifteen minutes to get out of. It can't be possible that both the waterfall and plunge pool were all dried up.
