She dropped a heavy canvas tote bag onto the floor, already deep into a FaceTime call. "Liam, no, listen to me," Tessa groaned, throwing herself face-down onto her unmade bed. "I am deadass about to drop out and become a bartender. This biology project is actually ruining my life. The vibes are rancid." Standing rigid in the dark, Vaughn barely breathed. The wardrobe squeezed his massive frame, smelling intensely of stale perfume and damp wool coats. He peered through the wooden slats, watching Tessa roll onto her back and hold her phone above her face.

This alone angered Eddna so much. “I know you know what your fate from here would look like but trust me when I say I get to say a word and you can't do anything about it,” Tessa says standing up. She was certainly the nice girl who had been saved years ago, she was now a badass woman and ready not to take on only her enemies but that of her bosses.

’ Tessa whipped back around, holding a bottle of what looked like organic strawberry fruit juice. She was humming a song, her energy levels reaching a peak that I couldn't even fathom. I honestly began to wonder how someone could wake up from such a long nap and act like they’d just had three shots of espresso. But then again, that was Tessa just being Tessa. It had always been her. Since the day I met her in the dorms, she’d been this super vibrant, cheerful girl who could find the silver lining in a category five hurricane. ~~~

Tessa Leah's voice rang out on the other end of the line, carrying that familiar edge of excitement she always had when she got her hands on a juicy piece of gossip. But today, her words were enough to make my stomach churn. "Tessa, don't you think it's weird?" she asked, her voice dropping as if someone else might be listening in. "I mean, people are saying that one of us...one of the students on this trip...was seen sneaking into Carter's room."

“Today, 5:30 PM. The M Café. Be there.” Tessa, ever the polished professional, replied instantly. “Yes, ma’am. I’ll be there.” Elara’s voice dropped dangerously. “If you’re playing games with me, Tessa, you won’t live to regret it. But if this isn’t your doing, you owe me an explanation. How could you leave your identity exposed like this? Do you even understand the danger we’re in?” Tessa’s composed demeanor faltered. “Ma’am, I assure you, I would never—”

Building bridges across twenty-two years of separation. Then my phone buzzed. The new one Damien had given me. Secure. Encrypted. Supposedly untraceable. One message. One video. One final threat. I opened it. Felt my blood run cold. Tessa. Alive. Standing in what looked like another facility. Bigger. More advanced. Surrounded by screens showing hundreds more glass chambers. All full. All waiting. “Congratulations,” she said. Voice calm. Measured. “You destroyed one facility. Freed one batch of prisoners. Saved your parents. Well done. Really. I’m impressed.”

Tess made her way to Theresa's Diner and started to check the profiles of the rookies she was to choose from. Young, Houghlin, White, Garrett, Dominic, Graham, Griffin, Hamilton, Pitcher, Baxter, Robbins...e.t.c.. She sipped her coffee silently when she felt a presence beside her. She looked up to see the kid she met the first day she arrived. "Hi," he greeted. "You're off work?" "Yeah, my shift just ended." "Nice, unlike me. I'm on a shift forever!" She smiled. Talking to the high schooler seemed to be interesting for Tess. The kid told her almost everything about him until he had to go home.

Rollins shouted following Richard. Duncan's Mansion. *TESSA* I jumped on my bed after dressing up in my pyjamas. I couldn't stop day dreaming about Christian. I am loving him right now, how I wish he is my boyfriend. His looks are breathtaking, his black curly hair appreciates his eyebrows as they almost touch each other. I looked at my phone repeatedly expecting his call. I kept myself busy with a novel, I got tired of it so soon.

I pulled out my phone and did some more research on Tessa while I waited for the hours to pass. If she had a private F******k and I*******m page she kept them hidden, and I couldn’t find much that didn’t have to do with her work for the paper and the paper at her old high school. She’d won a lot of awards at her old school, but so far hadn’t done too much at the university level that would garner an award.

I asked, I have a lot of questions going through my head. Did she hide her identity all these while? I was so lost in thought, trying to figure out what to do when I heard her say. "I'm excited to announce that I will be launching my brand in New York, it's a big win for me and my…..brand" I shifted my gaze to Dylan as I heard that. "Wait, Tessa is returning to New York" I said, as excitement crept in and then my face slowly turned to a frown, wondering if she would ever want to see me after what happened.
